    Prototype Welding/Shop Stool

Stihl attempted to do a high end shop stool with a very nice laser etched top that was about 1.5 to 2 inch slab of oak. Heavy frame that was powder coated. Intent was to sell at 100.00 a piece. So far it have not been well received. I committed for two of them last week for 50.00 a pop. I don't...

I had to look twice.. metric crescent wrench?

Trojan will be the next company to put a reference scale on their product. Bet a lot of wives/girl friends ask why the user doesn't measure up to claims previously made.

    Underground/Buried Gas Line

It's interesting to see what is standard practice in different areas of the country. In my area the majority of installs are propane in unincorporated county. Plain old black pipe in ground transitioning to copper is the norm.

Urgent advice needed - footers were poured today

I would have a meeting with the GC ,inspector, and yourself. I would include a rep of the concrete company if they would attend. Have copies of the paper work where water was added. If the inspector has an issue I would shut the build down until it is fixed to spec. Is the GC bonded. I would be...

    all usa tools ?

Mine used to be primarily American made. The last few years it's prolly 65% USA made and 35% German and Swiss. Folks are missing out if they stay with 100% USA made tools. I support American mg as much as anyone but their is a ton of affordable exception quality tools being made in Europe.

    wera screwdrivers ?

PB Swiss, Felo 400 series, Wiha 400 series and Wera in that order. Wera are good but the netter grade Felo and Wiha are in a different league imho. I use screwdrivers extensively everyday I work and the Felo and PB Swiss are better than anything I've every used including Snap On.

4.5" Corded Angle grinder...best bang for the buck?

If it were me, I would bite the bullet and just spend once and buy a Metabo as suggested by Monte, hands down the best grinder I have ever used was a Metabo. A friend that works as a MillWright suggested a Metabo when my old faithful Makita gave up the ghost. I like it better than the 5" tailed...

    Robotic Lawn Mowers

If you have a yard as flat as a pool table and about the size of a postage stamp fine. If not I would pass. Stihl sells one in Europe under the Viking name. I would invest in one until they are common place, which will be years down the road. In this area we are just seeing wide spread...

I have had a similar issue. I have a dairy up the road 3/4 mile. I've. Measured the power at the pole at 130 to 132 on both legs numerous times. I've had the loco out a half dozen times. They say its not unusual to be that high. Checked neutral tightness. My power will go off 2 to 4 times a day...

    advice for Chainsaw

Find a little 025 or 250 Stihl. Made in the USA. Although not a pro saw its very durable and cheap to work on if it ever needs it. Before buying a used saw pull the sparkplug and inspect the cylinder walls for scoring. Pass if there is any scoring. If you have a compression gouge test the...

My cousin built his home and shop with radiant floor heat. Shopnis 40x60. I wish I had used the radiant floor heat. Super efficient, comfortable as hell if you have to get on the floor. No worries about carbon monoxide . He just used manifold to create zones. I could kick myself for not...

    Harbor freight welder

I had a Lincoln 140 wire feed set up on 110. Even with .030 wire and gas I wouldn't be welding on a trailer, something were poor penetration welds could result in causing harm or injury or damage to what I was hauling. I recently bought a Forney 190MP inverter style welder that will run on 110...
