    Odd Estwing Hammer

I'll try to grab a pic in the next day or so. Mine's definitely had a hard life....but for $5, I wasn't going to pass it up.

    Odd Estwing Hammer

Been a few years but I finally got one of these over the weekend, for $5, at an auction. The guy above ended up putting his on EBay and went way out of my price range, around $75, IIRC. Mines pretty in pretty tough shape, compared to the one above, but plenty serviceable yet.

    finding used tools

Charlie's Second Hand is awesome, but not a lot of Snap-On. Still definitely worth the trip. I've had ok luck at pawnshops on Federal Ave. That's the problem with buying used....you can't just go get what you want, you gotta look. Then again, that's the fun part!

    Adverse Welding conditions

Service call to rendering plant to fix rental skidloader covered in rotten dead animal flesh. Service call on same company's truck, dropped driveshaft with load of dead cattle on, in about 100 degree heat.

    Snap On socket end wrenches

Bought this Mac set off local CL for $100. 1/4-13/16" sizes. Thought that was a pretty fair price. I like them!

Items I saw at the flea market today!

That whistle wheel looks like it came off the ocean floor, but the rest is cool! How much were the lights?

What. That old thing. Walker Turner drill press.

Had that exact same one for years. Gave it to my dad when I got a Delta 220. Great little drill press, but quill bearings were getting loose on mine.

Suggestions for wireless intercom under $50

How about a pair of those cheap 2 way radios? That'd be nice when under a car or something where you can't get to a wall mounted intercom easily.

Oil drain reservoir for the shop, worth it?

I dump my drain pans into old army 5 gallon gas cans. Dad built a stock tank heater that runs off used oil, so burn it through there in the winter. Thought at first they would be awkward, but the don't slosh or splatter, and can be closed up tight. I can buy them all day long for $1-2 at auctions.

No date stamp on back of bottom box. I'm trying to resize these pics, and nothing seems to work. I'm just not good with computers.

    Snap On bottom box?

Wanted the KRA429 on top of this bottom box, but had to buy both, for $90. They're both pretty clean, especially the mid box. Looked all over this bottom and can't find any markings. Appears to be Snap On, and has same drawer slides as the mid box. Any ideas? Sorry for fuzzy pic...can't seem to...

    Justifying your tool purchases

Having a well equipped shop enables me to avoid car payments, and have a lot of toys I couldn't otherwise justify, if I couldn't get them cheap, in need of repair. Also allows me to make $ by flipping stuff I've fixed, or fixing stuff for others.
