Agree that sniffers are damn near worthless. Co2 & soapy water works very well for me. Had a TIF sniffer that cost good $ and never did work well.

My old Mac SuperDuty 3/8" impact I bought damn near new back in 1993 has pretty well given up the ghost. Had it rebuilt around 2000, but not going to again. Who's got the most bang for the buck these days? Smaller size is important also, but power is my #1 concern.

I've got a set of those from HF. Never a problem, but I jumped at a chance to upgrade to like new NAPA ones for $50 a few weeks ago. Glad I did.

While I've never broken a jaw on one, they seem to be weak when subjected to lateral strain, like twisting or prying sideways. I've got a Surge, Wave, Sidekick, Wingman, Juice S2, Micra and Crunch. Only the Surge has needed warranty...fell out of its sheath while I was dropping a deuce...broke...

Good jump-gap spark tester. Fuel line pliers. 3/8" cordless impact & sockets. Good rubber tip blowgun. Vacuum oil extractor.

Change oil on mower at every summer holiday. Memorial Day, 4th July and Labor Day.

Got several of these, mostly Husky brand, set up for home repair tasks. One for carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical. Love them for this type of stuff, and the task based organization works well for me. Just wondering who uses them and what brands you prefer?

I'd say a scale is a good thing to get next. New systems aren't as forgiving of a "charge it till it cools good" approach.

Kinda surprised nobody mentioned it yet, but 3-5 days worth of any important prescription drugs, that are kept in rotation would be a good idea.

Use a few of the cheap Menards ones and perfectly happy with them. Got a couple Sure Shot ones too...get along well with them, but I can see the OP's points.

My dad has a set of them, from 7/16-11/4" IIRC. They've been in a tractor toolbox longer than I can remember. Been good wrenches over the years.

Got several of these. Pretty useful around the farm, and surprisingly powerful. The lower lifting point is especially handy. Only bad part with them is that you about have to set them on a board, or the handle will hit the ground before the stop engages the next tooth on the ram. Paid anywhere...

That looks identical to the one I got at Northern Tool, except for red paint. Handy for small stuff.
