    Miter saw....which one to choose...

If you go with 10" and later get a table saw too you can share blades. If you're going to remodel a house you should save up for the table saw. You will use both saws.

When have you broken a craftsman tool?

Only broke a few small things in the many years I have been using Craftsman. Tip on a screwdriver, tip on a Philips, one universal and one adapter for using 3/8 drive in my 1/4" impact driver. I have no complaints about the tools I own.

are any overseas made wrenches decent ?

If you change your mind, the sets from Northern Tool work just fine. They are polished too. If you look close enough, you will find one here and there in the set that says Craftsman on it. They are made at the same place apparently.

Who still seels Ideal electrical tools?

I have seen Ideal tools in several of the supply houses that sell telecom and electrical supplies. Mostly I use Harris Dracon and Progressive Electronics but the Ideal tools I've borrowed on jobs have been fine, just don't own any that I can think of. Maybe a coax crimmper but not sure since...

    Questions for the Cornwell guy

My vote would be Snap-on or Cornwell too. The less stuff you sell that is made/sold by other brands the better. Would hate to be like one of those Youtube guys talking about a $100 flashlight that can be bought elsewhere for $30. You would lose not only sales but credibility. At least with the...

    Armstrong Ratchets

I like them, they are better in most ways than your Craftsman ratchets. The one thing that might take some time is the weight difference in the handle. The Craftsman is light and easy to swing when held near the head. You will adapt but its the only thing that really stands out to me that might...

    USA Craftsman Return?

Just wanted to say how nice its been shopping in Sears lately. We have several in the area and all have been clean, well lit and easy to shop. It appears the main reason this is the case compared to the past is I am about the only one in there looking around. No matter what time of day I visit...

    shovel trouble!!!!!

Not sure it will help with your issue but I sharpen my shovels to put a blade surface on the end. It helps with digging so it might help in cutting the roots instead of just trying to pry them out.

    Worst tool ever produced?

...and RoboGrip a little later in the video. I have to say though, he did get everything apart with the tool just like he wanted to do.

    Chop saw or Bandsaw

I think this comes down to portability and space. If you have the room and don't need to be mobile with your work then chop saw. If you work outside the garage and need the ability everywhere, bandsaw. Dreaming a little would be a cold cut saw.

today was a good day, freebies!

My dad finds tools on the road but I can't think of any that I have found. Picked up a nice umbrella once that I still have but past that not much luck. I do keep an eye out but not like him, he drives 5-10 under the posted limit because he's too busy watching the sides or maybe that's just how...

    Craigslist Dreamer? (US general box)

Yea, he says several times its US General. His price is off by about a thousand but at least he knows he's not tricking anyone with the stickers.

    used tool buyers?

I have not bought or sold on CL lately but last time I did I made the meeting place public and not at my house. Last thing I want is someone coming back to the house for the items that were not for sale but visible during their visit. At this point, I only buy what I plan to keep or move around...

    socket organizers

If I were to complain about my Hansen socket trays it would be that all the sockets sit facing down. The posts display the size fine but most of the time I work based on looking at the physical size instead of knowing what measured size I need. Since having the trays I have spent more time...

    Power Tools Anonymous

I hope you don't feel that bad about your list. Name brands aside, I have about the same with the exception of the number of sanders. I consider my collection small. I don't see a framing nailer in your list so add that to mine.

Finally after 10 years i have a real compressor

Hose end regulator. It will attach just before the tool and typically works as a step down on a higher pressure system or as a regulator in lieu of the one on the tank. Early on, I attached my tools and while watching the output regulator dial pulled the trigger and compensated for the drop. I...

    Grainger Show

Maybe I can and just don't know but would like a place to walk in a shop SK tools. Granger is obvious here but it seems to me their prices are higher than other sources. Maybe I'm asking too much at this point. Craftsman is obviously a disappointment. I have a bunch of Craftsman but not so much...
