    Open neutral...

Friend asked me to look at an outlet that recently failed. My trusty plug tester show open neutral. traced the line back to a metal junction box. Wasn't over filled, but the connector was pushed into the box with the tip touching the side. The guy was running an electric space heater on a 14g 25...

    Testing a stick welder.

i've got an old Miller Thunderbolt(AC only) I want to sell, but while I was told it worked, I really have no idea if it does. I know nothing about welders either. I got the leads, sticks and a 220 receptacle to plug it into. Any easy way verify it works? Thanks.

    Millers Falls Hammer.

Picked this up at the Goodwill store today. I actually got it to use. My 16 oz Stanley fiberglass one has served it's time. I really like the balance of this one. Besides a Youtube video of a guy polishing one up, I can't find a heck of a lot of info on it. I may polish this one up a little...

    Craftsman soldering gun

Picked this up today at the local Goodwill. It works(I burned myself) and has a nifty light to light up the work area. I think the case will clean up, mostly seems like some sort of grunge on it.

    Some old pliers.

Been going thru some boxes of old tools I've accumulated and can across these pliers. Marking apparently is Moore Drop Forging Co?? If so date to around early 1910's to early 1930's. Claws are quite "chunky". In surprisingly un-abused condition. Anyone ever see any other tools from this Co.?

    Milwaukee compact drill/driver combo

Been planning on buying the compact brushless drill/driver combo. Figured the Black Friday deals would be the best time. Right now HD is offering the combo along with a 2 pack of 4 amp batteries for 299. I need extra batteries due to the use my drill and driver get. Is it likely I'll see a...

    Peck, Stow & Wilcox Pliers.

Got these from the local pawn shop today for 2 dollars..:) No evidence of the Pexto logo, which if I read right was first used in 1914. I wouldn't think these date before that, but maybe someone here would know for sure. :dunno: Don't seem to have seen much use and they operate smoothly.

    Flush floor plug outlet.

I need to find a flush, round floor outlet for a wood floor. I've been googling for awhile now. Apparently some that are called "flush" really aren't. They have a cover plate that sits on top of the floor. I need one that sits totally flush to the plane of the floor.. I've seen ones I think are...

    Small hammer/can opener..

Don't know if this is the place for this...but oh well. This came out of an old tool chest. Most of the other stuff dates 40'-50's No markings..I'm thinking maybe a school shop project? Assuming it's brass. Will clean it up when I get a chance.

Removing chuck from Milwaukee fuel drill.

Boss has a Milwaukee 18V fuel drill. The jaws of the chuck are screwed up and it has issues holding small bits. I need to replace it., The videos I've watched say it's a phillips head screw, reverse thread. This one looks like an allen head screw...it sure looks like one anyway .:dunno: I...

    Mini Anvil..

Another find from the tool cabinet. Don't think this was made for actual use as a jeweler/watch makers anvil...most likely just a promotional item.:dunno: The company was know locally as the "Anvil Bank" and was bought out in the 1930's. It appears to be made of brass. Thought it was pretty...

    The Hobart Handler 140

Newbie welder here and looking at buying this unit. Mainly for small simple repair jobs and some light fab work. The deal breaker would be if it wouldn't be up to the task of repairing/replacing the rocker panels on my Jeep Cherokee. My researching leads me to thinking- maybe. :confused...

    Cordless Milwaukee saw question.

Was ripping some material with my bosses cordless 18v fuel skill saw yesterday. Would start a cut and the built in light would come on...after about 5-10 sec of cutting, the light would go off. This can't be normal. Is the saw F'ed up or am I missing something?
