    Scanner for SRS/ABS

I need to get a scanner that will do ABS and SRS codes. I've been using Torque Pro, but it's time for an upgrade. I've browsed Amazon, but because of their BS review system, it's hard to see what's decent and what isn't. Any suggestions for something in the 100$ range?

    HF Merlin High Flow Couplers

Anyone tried these? I've had the Milton high flows, my last one unscrewed itself and blew its innards across the driveway, which is also what the first one did a few months ago. https://m.harborfreight.com/4-piece-high-flow-aluminum-coupler-connector-kit-63546.html

    Add Circuit to Meter Panel

I just had a carport put up to get my boats out of the garage, and I need to add a circuit to power a battery charger and a small flood light. There are no buildings close by, the closest place to get power is the main meter panel. Here is what it looks like. While I could take power from...

    3/8 Dr 10mm Shallow and 13mm Deep

It seems that the 10mm shallow and 13mm deep from my main chrome 3/8 set have walked off. Looking to replace them with quality brands, if anyone has any duplicates.

    Chinese Plasma Cutter Questions

I bought a CT312 combo unit and it arrived today. The welding functions work well, but I haven't been able to get it to cut. There is power at the end of the torch, and I have the ground lead in the right spot. This is what the consumables on the torch look like. Without the gas ring, it...

    Usefulness of 110v TIG

Some of you probably saw my thread from a few days ago about welding with a Cut50, which isn't going to work. However, I see that there are TIG/Plasma/Stick machines available for only a little more money. They do not have the cutting capacity of the Cut50 (30 amps vs 50), but I don't see that...

    Welding with a Cut50

Thinking about picking one of these up. The Ebay listings have "Welder" in the title, but that could be just be a search tag. Can these be used as a low amp stick welder? My gut says that is not feasible, and wouldn't be that useful if you could rig it up, but the though still lingers.

    Hercules Battery in Chicago Tools

I have the older Chicago 1/2" 18v impact wrench with the nicad batteries. The batteries are weak and discharge just from sitting. Has anyone tried to put the new lithium batteries from HF in the Chicago tools?

    Destroyed a HF Breaker Bar

Ruined this last night. No cheater bar, wasn't jumping up and down on it. I was tightening the lug nuts on a tractor with the bar at about 12:00 when it let loose. I have to say, I'm a little underwhelmed after reading all the rave reviews about this thing.

    Another Cutting Wheel Thread

Hate to start another thread on this subject, but I'm having a hard time finding much info on good 7" wheels. I've been reclaiming quite a bit of steel, and use my 7" grinder to cut welds. It does a great job, but I'm having some trouble finding decent wheels. I tried HF wheels. Never had one...

    Tekton Ratchet Repair

I have a Tekton 15013 24" handle 1/2" drive ratchet, it's been a fantastic tool that was worth every penny. I knew that a ratchet with this long of a handle was going to get broken eventually. It's just too easy to take advantage of. I found the weak point yesterday, which was the square...

Wrench Rack for Tool Box Lid

I have a Payload rail-top toolbox on my pickup. It has plastic trays in it right now that hold my wrenches, it's a less than ideal arrangement, having to rummage around to find the right one. There is quite a bit of real estate on the lid to mount a couple wrench racks. It would save a lot of...

    Gearwrench Selector Problems

Last summer I bought the 8 piece reversible ratcheting wrench set from Advance Auto. I had some trouble with the selector auto-reversing on the 12mm.. Apex sent me another and it has been fine, but I really don't use it that often. Had the same thing happen to the 10mm, but the selector jammed...

    Extra Long 1/2 Ratchets

What do you guys have? How do you like it? I have the HF extendable and flex head long handle ratchets, but I don't like the extendable ratchet all that much, and although the flex head certainly has it's uses, I prefer a fixed head sometimes. Oreilly's carries a Performance tool with a 24"...

    Porter Cable Warranty

For the second time the charger on my PC 20v kit has crapped out. It's the 129.99 combo from Lowes. First time was shortly after I bought it, so I returned it to Lowes, the charger showed a red light indicating a bad battery all the time. This time it doesn't show anything. It's been close to...

Discount Tire Direct Labor Day Promotion

They have some great prepaid Visa MIR offers for Labor day. I bought a set of 4 Vogue UHP tires in 215/45-17 that came to around 220 dollars after 175 dollars in rebates, and a set of Konig 17" wheels that came to 300 and change after another 100 bucks in rebates. Hard to beat a new set of...

    Gearwrench Warranty

I bought the 8pc reversible ratcheting wrench set from Advance a couple weeks ago, they are on sale for 29.99. I used the 12mm for the first time today and the selector likes to change directions on you during use. Unless there's an easy fix, I need to have it warrantied. I need to look the...

    MAC (Aircat) Impact Maintenance

I bought a MAC 280Q impact from a pawnshop a couple days ago. Great condition, works good. I believe it is the old model Aircat 1355XL. What maintenance does this gun require aside from oil through the inlet once in awhile?

    Bought a Worn 2135Timax

I spotted a 2135 on craigslist for 100 bucks.. I was needing a strong 1/2 impact so this one fit the bill. I knew by the pics it was a little beat up, but I read that these are pretty durable so I had the guy ship it since he was a long ways away. I paid 85 bucks for it, saw similar examples...

M12 3/8 Impact: Fuel vs. Brushed

I've been looking at getting a better impact and already have two M12 batteries for my ratchet. I see the 3/8 Fuel is listed for 149.00, bare tool. 117ft lbs. I can get the non-Fuel brushed model reconditioned for 65 bucks. Rated at 83ft lbs...
