A actual good deal at grainger!

Found a pair of these at a garage sale I happened to swing by and hadn't seen them before. Nice simple product and I'll be happy to have them the next time I have to lean a ladder against a tin building. Looked them up later and was shocked to see grainger has them for less than $4. Still were...

How should I run this 3 phase belt grinder?

I haven't done anything with VFD's or rotary phase converter's but have done some reading and know there's a lot of options out there. Ideally I'd like to be able to easily adjust speed and have the full rated power. I'd rather stick with name brand equipment as this is a tool that'll be around...

    Identity the ratchet innards

Found in a drawer and they are doomed to scrap without being identified which makes me feel sad. All 3/8" Drive. I think far right might be a dual pawl williams. Haven't checked that yet. The center two are the same. Far left is missing pieces and as a long anvil.

When did craftsman round head fine tooth ratchets get cheap on ebay?

I thought these were an easy $30 plus shipping but it looks more like $20 including shipping now. Are they finally getting old enough where most people are not aware this was one of craftsman's better ratchets? Maybe we just all have hoarded enough that the massive quantity they turned out is...

What is everyone liking for thermal imaging guns or attachments for equipment troubleshooting?

I'm feeling overwhelmed by the options. What do you guys like for the best picture quality and features for the price?

A brand new what is it? Specialty chain wrench or clamp?

See the picture. The chain can go over the peg allowing it to act as a clamp of sorts. I cannot figure out what the disk on top would contribute.

    Who made this grinder/buffer?

I'd guess 3/4 or 1 horsepower based on size. No sign of any labels. It runs smooth. Is it decent or just a Taiwan noname? The switch is the most distinctive thing about it. It also has a 110 plug on it and that's what I tested it on not noticing the switch saying 250v until after.

Who makes or made Harley Davidson Sockets?

Seems to be a decent socket. Never seen one before and stumbled across one in the bulk bin at the pawn shop.

LED driver questions. High bay failure.

I bought quite a few high Bay lights from menards, and after less than a year I'm having failures where they start to blink. This is very annoying, and could even be considered painfull and usually results in me sticking something long up there and smashing them until they stop. I would like to...

Was American Eagle a short lived made in USA precursor to Matco's Silver Eagle line or something else entirety?

I found this wrench and can't seem to find any information on an OEM or where it came from. Anybody got a clue? There were also some sockets labeled the same but I left those.

Champion 212cc tiller with counter rotating tines $179 shipped free

I posted this in the home depot thread as well but since I don't frequent that and know many others don't as well I thought it might save someone a buck on it's own. I don't have it but seems well reviewed...

    What is it fellas?

They are about 11" long and quite heavy duty. Just can't decide what they would be the perfect tool for but I was sure enough that they would be perfect for something that I threw them in my pile at the pawn shop.

    Bobcat Hydraulic Breaker

So I've tentatively picked up a well used and abused hydraulic breaker and am trying to decide if I really want it or not. It doesn't currently do anything but puke oil out the cover right below where the hydraulic hoses go in. Information is scarce and I know nothing about them other then I...

Snap On 1/2" drive chrome socket with unique look... SDH240A.

This appears to be a shallow chrome 1/2" drive socket but seems to have a unique part number and be slightly deeper than standard, as well as lacking the two grooves I normally see on standard sockets. I couldn't find anything about it on the internet so was curious if anyone had any insight...

Anyone have any experience with Garant wrenches? Made in Germany.

Picked these up at the pawn shop today because I'd never heard of the brand and they have the feel of a quality wrench. Anyone have any experience with this brand or backstory? It's not too often anymore that I find something that I haven't heard of in the realm of tools.

    5 ton bottle jack ID

This bottle jack is confusing me, it resembles several different jacks I have but isn't really like any of them. Anyone know a brand and likely model number?

    What is this thing called?

This came up in one of those random videos one occasionally sees on the internet and actually looked to be a pretty decent idea. It's purpose is to taper threads on cut all thread and bolts to allow for an easier start, without fiddling around with putting a nut on before cutting or other higher...

    New proto socket sets

I was browsing socket sets, because I only have twenty or so that I don't need already, and came across these newer Proto sets in a fairly intuitively blow mold case. Anyone have their hands on one who could share some pictures and thoughts? The case doesn't look fitted so I'd be curious if the...

Running a small battery powered articulated boom lift off a power supply

So I've got an old upright tl33 trailer mounted boom lift that currently uses 4, 6v batteries. I don't want the hassle of maintaining the battery system to just use it around the farm. I would like to just put a 24v power supply where the batteries used to live to convert it to something I can...

    U cup seal selection

I need this seal for a press and am having a much harder time finding it than I was expecting. Most seem to be much shorter with even close to the same ID and OD. Am I missing something?
