    Mobile Pressure Washing Setup

I have a Simpson 3700 psi, 2.5 GPM gas pressure washer. I have a 70 gallon poly water tank (like what you find at Tractor Supply) and I'd like to make a small mobile pressure washing setup. Ive heard some say you can just use gravity from the tank to the washer, but I called Simpson and they...

Which ramp width/holes for Advantage 9000 xlt 4 post

Seems there are two sets of holes to vary the width on the 9000 xlt and it’s not addressed in the instructions or videos. Any suggestions on what works best? Do you have to use both outer or both inner? Is it typical to just move the non powered track? Thanks Scott

    Jeep CJ7 Rebuild

Bought an old CJ that I plan to fix up. 1976 cj5 was my first vehicle and I’ve always been partial to them. First order of business is repairing some rot. Not much experience so learning as I go. I already cut out some of the floors and side and have some repair panels coming. In the rear...

Die Grinders / Tools for Tight Auto body Cutting

I bought a 90 degree Harbor Freight air die grinder to get in some tight spots when cutting metal. It bogs down and stalls basically as soon as it hits the metal. It's not an air issue (I have a 60 gallon tank, proper air pressure, and oil the tool). I know HF tools are cheap and I generally...

Paint Booth - Painting a Jeep

Have an old CJ that I am slowly in the process of restoring. It's not a show car, so i'm wondering about painting it myself. I've dont a lot of projects, just not paint. How difficult is it for a beginner? Since I have to replace some parts anyway, would it be easier to pain the hood...

    Recommendation for Air Line Dryer

I have the 3/4" rapid air in wall airline plumbing in my shop with 3 or 4 outlets. Need a recommendation for a good air line dryer. Not sure if that should be installed on the output of the compressor, or if i need something at each outlet. Use will be for a Hypertherm plasma cutter / table...

    Jeep Rust Repair

Curious if anyone has a nice tutorial for cutting out and replacing skins where it intersects the side. Also wondering if I'm better off patching, or if it would be better / less work to do the whole side or the whole floor. Probably not interested in a new tub. Like the accomplishment of...

    Plasma Cutter Value

I'm getting a CNC plasma table and need to buy the cutter. I know everyone says Hyperthem is the best, but they are quite a bit more than even the Lincoln and others. What really differentiates the "good" from "bad" cutters? Langmuir for the Crossfire Pro recommends the Razorweld 45 which is...

Design for Rotating Tool Stand on Casters

Im wanting to make a tool stand for my drill press, two bench sanders, and bench grinder. Im envisioning it being squarish, with 1 of the 4 tools at each corner. I'd like to make it out of square tubing and put casters on the bottom so I can roll it out of the way. Curious if anyone has done...

More Lift Questions. 4 vs 2. Cheap vs $$

Ready to pull the trigger. Struggling with a few questions I hope the experts here can help with: * Size - It looks like even a 3/4 ton pickup can fit on an 8000 lb lift. Not sure what would drive the need to go bigger (I see many do 9K or 10K)? Same questions on length...I think even crew...

Good Basic Paint Gun with Disposable Cups

I have an old HF gun that I have used for primer for years that is starting to do a poor job. I have a jeep I am updating that I ideally want to paint myself, and Id like to upgrade to a little better paint gun that can potentially do both primer and finish paint. It's a jeep and not a show...

How to Weld Jeep Body Patches

Cutting and replacing rusty sections on the jeep body. I have a nice TIG / stick, of which I'm not the best at TIG welding. I assume TIG is the "right way to weld the panels? Not sure if **** joint or lap joint? I'm not having the best luck and curious on options. I'm much better / easier...

    Torch buyers guide

Don’t know anything about them, but I am looking for some thing that can heat up bolts to remove them as well as cut through things that won’t budge. I hear victor is a good brand, but not sure how important that is. Are there different tips I need to look for based on needs? Any...

    Broke bolts

Help! I have an old Jeep cj7 that I am restoring. It seems 75% of the bolts I try to remove from the body tub are rusted stuck. I have tried every trick in the book, Kroil, pb blaster, numb nuts, torch, etc and none of them have loosened. I’ve had to drill, and most of these are big bolts and...

Replacing Metal on Pole Barn w/ Spray Foam

Have 2" of closed cell spray foam on the roof. Has any removed and replaced the metal on a pole barn that has been spray foamed with closed cell? I've heard some people say it's impossible to get it off, and others say it comes right off and the foam stays put. I'm assuming the foam is going...

Adding Eaves to Existing Metal Pole Barn

My build has the roof that pretty much ends at the wall. I'd like to dress it up with 1 or 2 foot overhangs all the way around. I'm planning to replace the roof shet metal, so it will be exposed and a good time to do it. Anyone done it before? I'm not totally visualizing how I will go about...

Replacing Pole Barn Siding / Dressier Options

Have a 40x50 ship. I've spent a lot of time and money on the inside making it just right, but the exterior is a little tired. The building is ~20 years, and the metal is starting to show its age (I didn't build it). Several tears in the side form the tractor, few spots were it leaks a small...
