    HF oddest size skip set

I've been puzzled by this HF wrench set for a long time. Why does it skip 13 mm and 18 mm? I don't think I've ever seen a metric set that skipped 13 mm? Maybe they think people will buy the SAE set too and sub the 1/2 for the 13? - and the 5/8 for the 16 mm? Those 2 sae subs make sense, but...

Proto Challenger 1060-1 spring for 1/4 drive ratchet

Hi all, was servicing a nice Challenger 1060-1 round head ratchet and of course lost the tiny spring for the pawl. These are not the easiest ratchets to service due to the tiny size of the parts and the awkward reassembly procedure. Anyone have a spare spring or know the size so I could get one...

Craftsmen USA - what am I missing here?

I watch some of the YouTube channels of guys who claim to score motherlodes of tools at flea markets and such and they all go ga-ga over old Made in USA V series craftsmen, as if this stuff is somehow rare or valuable. They claim to get big money on ebay for stuff like the USA raised panel...

Snap ring for Craftsmen 3/8 ratchet 43784

I need the larger snap ring that holds the grooved escutcheon around the anvil into the teardrop head of the ratchet for a Cman 3/8 drive ratchet model 43784. This is not a normal snap ring, it's some proprietary C'man part that is NLA except from the ebay price gougers selling NOS rebuild kits...

Anyone know the correct snap ring size for an older USA made Craftsmen 3/8 drive ratchet with ratchet model number 43784 ? This is the larger snap ring that hold the anvil's round escutcheon to the ratchet head. I scored the ratchet for a buck at a yard sale this weekend, it cleaned and lubed...

    Vintage tool prices softening

Seems like way less bids and lower prices lately on vintage tools on ebay, compared to say a few years ago. Anyone else notice this? Also a lot of buy it now with really stupid high prices that just sit forever. The sellers are dreaming. I think the party is over.

    Craftsmen vs Dunlap

How much worse was the 1950s and 60s "Dunlap" budget line of wrenches etc vs the "name brand" Craftsmen? For example, see page 12 of the 1960 catalog here: http://www.blackburntools.com/articles/rose-tools-catalog-archives/sears/pdfs/sears-craftsman-1960-hand.pdf Looks like the Dunlap wrench...

Older Craftsmen V series METRIC wrenches

I've been hitting garage sales and flea markets etc. in NJ/eastern PA area for 20 years, and was thinking how rare the older Craftsmen V series metric stuff seems to be. I'm the guy who will root thru boxes of old wrenches at barn sales etc. and seems like old metric stuff just isn't out there...

Northern Tool direct vent wall heater 15 BTU

I need to heat the second floor of my 3 story barn. It's basically one large 600 sq foot room. Walls and ceilings have fiberglass batts but they are undersized (2 x 4 thickness batts in 2 x 6 stud/rafter bays). I could easily add more/thicker batts since the walls are unfinished. I was planning...
