    Storm s8

As if I don't have enough projects I decided to look at a Storm boring bar I've been tripping over for years. This was in far better condition that I assumed but both pulleys are broken. Anyone have one they could measure the pulleys for me? This is a Storm s8. Thanks

    New stuff

Estate saleing to day and hit one I thought would be a waste of time. I discovered a box of rusty stuff that was a dollar a piece. 20 pieces-twenty bucks. There are four Blackhawk fixed head swivel sockets.one Hol Set speed handle (never heard of them until today) and an early Snap On drive...

    New stuff and question

Had to ease off for a while but I did manage a few new things. Yesterday was vice day. I picked up a nice Prentiss Bull dog for $25 and what I think is a Parker. It's very similar to all my other Parkers but has no name anywhere. Just the numbers 10 and a number 10-21. It doesn't match the...

    New vice

Been laid up for a while but got a call yesterday from a former estate sale contact. I'm a little more mobile now so I took a little ride to what was left. The REM LINE box (with tools) was spoken for and there really wasn't much left. I had previously got a Parker machinist vice from this...

    MTF

Picked these up Friday. Today at a swop meet I found another MTF ratchet! Identical to the other. Pictured is a MTF ratchet compared with a Snapon 5/8 ratchet. The heads are identical.

    Wells bandsaw

I recently picked up a Wells 5M bandsaw at an estate sale (for $20) that someone bought and removed the legs. I'm trying to repaint and clean it up. I'm at the point of cleaning the gearbox. The (online) manual has a nice chapter on the lubricant but doesn't say what it is. I have'nt...

    Lowell ratchets

Been kinda dry around here lately. I did attend an estate this weekend that had tons of stuff- mostly pedestrian. I did just miss out on an 1nch drive Plomb set and a pile of 1 drive inch sockets. Anyway , I bought a few wrenches and a bunch of ratchets. One of the ratchets is a "Lowell". I have...

    New stuff

A few recent additions. I like Stevens Waldon stuff so the two sets fit in nicely. I'm sure I have whatever I need to fill them out. The Beckley Ralston I bought off Facebook for $35. It is almost like brand new.

    Socket ID

While going through some piles of random sockets I ran across these. Two of the sockets have the size cast into them while the large hex has it stamped. The swivel has a10 and the large hex has a17. Any ideas? I'll have more questions later. I did find some very early Blackhawk sockets. At...

    rust removal

I have a Parker No.8 vise that was left outside for years and is now froze. I bought a bunch of vinegar on clearance at HD for $.90 a gallon. I'm thinking putting the vise in a pail covered in vinegar and setting aside for a month or two. Any chance of this damaging the vise, freeing up the...

    Yet another manufacturer

Estate saling this weekend I ran across this three foot gem. I had a H in a shield that I couldn't find on Alloy Artifacts. It also had a railroad stamp on it. Thinking I had some rare ($5) wrench I traced it down to be a Hubbard. They seem to be defunct now but appear to have been a pretty...

Let me just put this out there

At an estate sale in Meriden. Its a little hard to judge size. It was at least 3ft tall and made of wood. I didn't buy it since I didn't want to remortgage my house. That's the floor its on not a table.

    couple of new things

Here is a couple of new things for the accumulation. The brake is 21 inch and doesn't have a name on it. The second is a heat gun. Never saw one that old. Ignore the HF brake in the back.
