    Epoxy and flakes outside?

At a local restaurant last night and they have installed a good looking epoxy and heavy flake on part of the sidewalk and entry. Sealer/clear will be put on after closing time. Are any of these products approved for exterior floors. I have a patio and front porch that would look good with...

    Push Notifications

I get random requests from the board to allow these. I always answer yes, and get an acknowledgement. But, it seems to forget. Doesn't do it everytime I log on, I don't think, but just sometimes. Like 2-3 times today. Not a biggie but curious.

    Tornados, trees and Chainsaws UPDATE

I've had a little top handle 14" Echo for years. Good little pruning and limbing saw. I was one of the fortunate ones in my town that lost only trees, house and shop untouched by an EF3 tornado Sat nite/Sunday morning. Lots of others lost homes and had injuries. We only lost power for...

Multiple thermostat failures on newly installed furnace and a/c.

Apologies for posting a non-garage question. But, it could be a garage furnace. It's my daughter's system. Installed late last summer. First, the original battery powered thermostat failed, found bad batteries and changed them. Dead next morning. Replaced thermostat with new smart...

Roll up door opener - Door like storage units use

Used search and didn't find any info. I'm thinking of installing a power opener on a standard 8x7 roll-up door. Like the millions of u'storage places use. Lots of cheap units on eBay and Amazon but not a lot of positive reviews. Anyone have some first hand experience and/or recommendations...

    Devilbiss air regulator diaphragm

I have an ancient filter regulator. Can't find a number on it but it's really big. Similar size new is $300+. It has a broken diaphragm. It is a copper or brass alloy disk about 2.5" in diameter with a lead rim to seal in the housing. I've looked for a replacement with no luck so far. I...

    Devillbis regulator - brass diaphragm

I have an ancient Devillbis regulator/water serarator. Can't find a model number or name anywhere. It uses a brass diaphragm where all the current, and recent models use reinforced rubber, but it's cracked. Does anyone have any sources for such a thing? I even thought about using a piece of...

    mini split line set installation

I'm working on a garage conversion, unfortunately from a garage to a bedroom! I have the inside walls open, 2x6 studs. There will be a mini split installed and I would like to hide the line set. Was thinking of using 3 or 4 " pvc pipe with the longest elbows I can fit inside the wall. Run...

German Stainless steel side cutters dikes - whatever

I just picked up a pair of stainless steel dykes. The fit and finish is the best I have ever seen! On one side they are marked with an R with a partial outline, sort of a square with the bottom open surrounding the R. This is followed by: 21-0272. Below it says: Germany Stainless On the...

    Heater control wiring

I scored a big honkin' electric heater for my shop today. 10kw, 208/240 1 or 3 phase electric Dayton. At less than 10% of its' new cost! But, I can't find a diagram of the control wiring. The label the unit specifies that it is a 24v control circuit, but no diagram. Looked on the Grainger...

    Motor capacitor sizing

I have an old motor on a brick saw that I picked up at an auction. It is a dual voltage 1725 rpm motor. Both the start and run caps are bad(split and corroded). But the windings appear to be good, no shorts or grounds that I can see with a meter. It is 3hp motor that runs on either 120...

    Metal cutting blades

I've looked at these at Lowes and others. These are the ones that are supposed to work on a normal circular saw. There have been some recent discussions, but one question I haven't seen posed or answered. Will they work on 304 stainless sheet? I have some 304, probably 12-14 gauge that I'd...

    Old metal lathe info

I just picked up an old lathe. Gonna restore just 'cause it looks so cool and use it a little. I guess it to be circa 1920, flat belt drive but with a 4 jaw scroll chuck. Seems tight with little wear and what looks like a full set if change gears. No pics yet, but soon. I'll be lookin' for...

    Crescent ratcheting wrenches

Anybody else tried these? I was at Sam's club and saw the sets. SAE only, but 3/8" to 3/4" for under $15! Just had to try them out. Seem to be OK, about on par with the others I've tried. Made in Taiwan, qood chrome, fairly smooth action, and cheap!

    Snap On end cab ID

I have an end cab that I can't find in the current online catalog. It looks like KRA4830, EXCEPT it has 7 drawers behind the locking door. I'm missing the key, otherwise it is OK,scratches ant paint wear from rolling around on a cart beside another cabinet. I'll get pics later, but anyone...
