I just saw this Quincy on FB marketplace. It's in west, central Illinois. I have no affialtion, it's not mine. It's too far away, and I'm afraid of a divorce if I bring home another project before finishing an existing... I've asked for more photos and information, hopefully the seller is...

"Industrial" pressure switch for air compressor ?

I'm sure if I'm asking this question, I'm not qualified to be doing this work :) Other than expense, is there any reason not to use an industrial pressure switch on an air compressor ? Properly sized, wired and adjusted. Something like the photo below.

Does NEMA frame size matter ? 184 vs 213

Hello folks, Shopping for a motor for a compressor project... I've seen two motors with equal specifications, other than the NEMA frame size. Is there any benefit to the larger 213 frame compared to the 184 ? I've no space or fitment constraints. Steve

    Quincy air compressor collectors !!!

I've no connection to this ebay sale... just seems like a cool historical compressor. This person has a Quincy QR 325 ROC 1... I believe that would make it one of the first 325s ever made. It also has a cushion chamber, a cool air filter housing, an art deco switch box and an R/I motor...

Platt tool case pallets, sewn or molded ?

Guys, I need to replace my old tool case. I'm a field service engineer for medical imaging equipment. None of my tools are very big, 10" Channellocks, 8" adjustable, 3/8" drive socket set. The rest of my tools would be considered electronics sized. I think I'm going to get one of these...

Hey folks, Cruising through Craigslist this morning and saw this 'vintage' Milwaukee jack. http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/tls/4801124728.html I see a lot of images on the web, but none of it in use. I'll assume this is a bumper jack ? I can kinda remember when a bumper was a lift-point...

Short, fat, 60 gallon compressor tank ?

Folks, Am I seeing things ? I hope I've attached a photo correctly. Does someone make a short, fat, 60 gallon receiver ? There are some images on Ebay, Craigslist etc... that show what looks like a short 60 gallon tank. I'll assume it's based on 80 gallon end bells with a shorter cylinder in...

Hey folks, Scrounging around Craigslist before church this morning. I find this cool looking old Lincoln welder. I don't think this is what is usually called a tombstone. I've got an idea what the nickname this one would have... I'd love to know about this welder if you've got any...

    Compressor cushion chamber ??

I've a question for the compressor experts. When I look at old compressors, many have a cushion chamber. I don't see this on new compressors. I can't find a very good explanation of the cushions purpose. Are they obsolete ? If nothing else, I think they look cool. More fins are always better...

    Tool box trophy

Hi folks, I just found this in my tool box. It's a 1/4-20 stainless. It had seized in an automated welding job. I drilled it out, in place, by hand. I've kept this for 20+ years. Some days it's better to be lucky than good  Do you keep any trophies ? Steve
