How would you organize things if your brain isn't capable of letting you do it?

I have one of those perfectionist brains, the kind that screws you over to the point that there is just no organizational system in place at all. Don't get me wrong, I have a few drawers that are perfectly organized, but I just can't translate that into a larger space. I am a hoarder, butof...

Need help with time delay relay powered by 120 volts switching a 12 volt DC pump

I have the basic idea of things figured out, but I am having trouble actually finding a timer delay normally closed relay that can handle what I am doing. I'm running a 12 volt powered sump pump as a backup in my basement and I need it to only run when we have a power outage. I would like the...

Adjustable DC power supplies, looking for 10 AMP rated or better, are the Amazon ones just a fire waiting to happen???

I am looking for a way to charge a single cell of a forklift battery pack, need 2.5 volts and 10 amps and they make exactly what I want, but it is several hundred dollars. I don't need to do this often and I thought a variable voltage/amperage DC power supply would be a more versatile tool to...

Bandsaw blades for metal, where to buy them, how much should they be??

I haven't had to buy any bandsaw blades for either of my large bandsaws, I have one that is 150" (12' 6") Rockwell Model 20 and the other is 132" (11') Ellis 1600. I have been buying Morse for my small portable ones or Milwaukee brand for the smaller saw (seems like a unique size). Looks like...

    Wilton Vise, looking for info.

I am getting this Wilton Vise, it has 6" wide jaws, is about 24" overall when closed, appears to be a swivel base. I couldn't find a tag, just the maker's castings. Can anyone tell me what model it is? I am trying to figure out how much it weighs and how old it is. Thanks for any info.

    LED linear array replacements??

I can't really find much on this subject. I have some TCP high bay light fixtures, some have several LEDs that are dead, others have entire arrays, curious to see if anyone has had any experience fixing these? I hate to buy all new lights for no reason, the replacements are an upgrade, but I...

Milton V-Style high flow coupler issues

I have had these fitting and couplers for over a year, I do not use them all the time, but one started getting sticky and then wouldn’t release. They only offer brass couplers and the fittings are steel, of course I am using it on a needle scaler so it is beating it all the time. I am just...

Not worried about the price, BEST needle scaler out there....

At this point the compressor (7.5 HP 14 CFM? 80 gallon tank) will probably be the limiting factor, not budget. I have been looking at both pistol grip and straight. I currently have an IR182, looking at CP and Cleco brands, not sure what else is out there and recommended. Will be used on...

    Double ended fine/coarse thread studs??

I am looking for a threaded stud, 5/8" - 11 on one end and 5/8" - 18 on the other, can't seem to find any options. It holds the bell housing on a transmission. Overall is about 2 3/8" with 1/2" of course threads and 1 1/8" fine threads. I searched a bunch of terms in google, with no real results.

Powered driveway gates for areas with snow.

Been having way too many cars driving up my driveway and either turning around or parking and walking around, I am not always there, but I am starting to get worried. Have a camera system, but police are little help, they just say I can have them towed, so now I am thinking gate, there are...

Paint removal from metal, any good paint strippers left?

I am trying to find a decent paint stripper, seems like the EPA has made it near impossible to buy the good stuff with the deadly chemicals in it. I am not currently removing paint from wood, but I am curious if there are any good paint removers out there. Thanks guys and gals.

After there where some issues with my oil fired furnace, I replaced the coil, replaced the cad sensor and things seemed to be working for a while, had another issue and I decided to bring in someone that knows more than me. They replaced the controller with a digital unit and it works well, I...

Double ended male plug without shocking risk?

OK, so I am not trying to make an extension cord, I am trying to wire up my truck block heater so I can plug it in from the front or rear depending on where I am without making both ends hot. Think junction box to input cords and the block heater. Is there a way to do this? I know generator...

Security cameras without a huge learning curve?

I would like to install some security cameras at my shop. I have internet 24/7, but it is not the fastest speed, probably averages 6 Mbps, it will stream video for sure. I had pre-ordered some of the new Blink XT2 cameras, they arrived today, went to install the app and the newest reviews are...

    Rotating stand for multiple grinders?

I feel like there was a stand I saw that was made out of a heavy truck rear end and it rotated, anyone remember that? Am I just crazy? Maybe it was a vise stand? Anyways, I would like to make a really rugged stand that rotates, what I really want is to have the center also be dust...

Heavy duty truck/axle floor jacks, 35/50 ton, what would you recommend?

I will start off with I know I can buy a cheap import for under $200 that will lift 20 tons, that is not what I want. I am currently looking at these two jacks, one is much shorter than the other and I like that, but then it has an external return spring and I don't like that. Space is...
