Astro Flank Bite sockets and wrenches.....Questions

So looking at these wrenches and sockets, it occurs to me that they may be the same wrench and socket SAE or Metric. Can anyone confirm this? The design is loose fit as it is hitting the side hex, not the corners. Wrenches are 8 piece for both SAE and Metric, I really don't want to buy...

Ultrasonic cleaner, is bigger better or not?

I am looking at used units and the ones I am interested in are 2.5 gallon and 5.5 gallon. Obviously the larger one has a better capacity, but I do not need that capacity very often, mostly I will be cleaning hardware and other things that are small. All units I am looking at are heated too.

Locking flex head ratchets, I think I am over them.

I can remember the first time I used them, I thought they were a great idea. Then the second time I used one it was annoying, then the third time, wait, I haven't used them since. They are not even close to my go to ratchet, I am thinking of them as a gimmick now, but they are paid for...

Looking for a socket 1/4" drive deep swivel 3/8" size six point preferred

My Snap On Driver didn't have one and I really would like to get one. It is for my glow plugs on a 6.5 diesel, I have been using two wobbles, but I would prefer something that stays together better. Anyone know who makes one?

    Quincy QR-25 Model 350 refurb/rebuild......

I had another thread, but I had an issue with photobucket and all my pictures got deleted. **(No not the linking issue, actually got them deleted during an attempt to transfer them.)** I figured since I am finally working on it, I might as well post about it. Mine is a duplex unit, so it is an...

How do you store your bungee cords?

Right now mine are tossed in a milk crate, if I want one, I get ten because they are all hooked together. Anyone have a better idea?

What is this? Seems like electrical.

The halves are stamped HENDRIX, when I search google and use Hendrix and pipe, well, let’s just say there are too many pictures to weed out anything. It is missing one pin, I just happened to grab the bag that was opened.

Heat and cool 90 square foot room, mini split?

My shop office is a 6' wide by 15' long room, it is only 7' tall. I am currently using an oil radiator for heat and it works, but not great. In the summer I have to leave the door open to keep it cool, this is creating lots of dust issues. Is this space just too small to heat and cool that...

Did we finally get an automatic image resizer?

I posted a monster picture and it shrunk to fit the screen, then it was clickable without me having to write HTML code. I hope this is a permanent thing! :bounce:

Trying to unhoard the hoarder's hoard with the help of a horde.

I am doing better, but still struggling. At what point to you say fack it and just toss everything? That is what I feel like. I spent yesterday going through a 40' conex, I tossed a small amount of stuff, loaded 1600 pounds of hardware and brought it to the scrap yard, today I almost feel...

Plumbing hydraulic system for bucket truck, trying to eliminate extra parts........

I have a Versalift VST 4000I bucket truck, it has an old battery powered hydraulic system and most of the parts are dead, now I have some major leaks and replacement parts are weeks away. I just want to eliminate it completely, I don't have a manual, that too is weeks away, so I am trying to...

Hydraulic lines, no room, special tools?

I have a cluster of hydraulic lines on my bucket truck. I need to remove one line in the middle, can't even get my finger between the lines. Is there a special tool that allows access? I am figuring I will have to pull half the lines to get access to the one I have to replace. Pictures to...

Launch X431 scan tool, opinions? Mostly working on Volvo and GM trucks.

I hear it is really good with European cars, not so much with domestic. I have used one a bit, but not for any real time. I like the two way tests I can perform on my Volvo, it makes diagnostics a lot easier. Anyone have and other opinions or suggestions? The things I really like are price...

Above 1200 Sq/FT The Salvage Garage

I am not sure if I am salvaging the garage, the garage is salvaging me, or I just salvage stuff and the garage stores it. I guess maybe it's all three things? I had another thread, but a freak photobucket accident destroyed all the links, almost all of the pictures too. Ironically...

Is making a pressure washer as simple as it seems?

I have been looking at gas pressure washers, I am playing around with the idea of using one to media blast. Most of the kits want 4 GPM or more and the prices go up quick in that range. I see home depot has $1000 units, but the pumps are AAA and I was always told you want a cat pump. Anyways...

Cleaning up rusted parts, what is the safest and best method?

I am in the process of rebuilding a truck and I am looking to clean up pieces of the frame, bolts, brackets, and other parts. I was all set to use vinegar, but then I was reading about damage that the acid in it can cause. I also thought about electrolysis, but heard about embrittlement...

Use every square inch of a wall or keep some negative space?

So what do you prefer? Do you use every square inch of space on the wall or do you keep some negative space? I have been reading a bunch of threads and seems that some people use every inch, some not so much. I know if you have a smaller shop it is nice to use every bit of space available...
