Not sure of your question. Are you looking to make sure the Mac sockets are USA made or looking for cheaper off shore ones? Or hoping to find American made quality for Walmart prices?

One thought that may be convenient is a centralized compressed air system with distribution to each unit. Provide this as with any other utility. Would have the advantage of less space and noise compared to each unit bringing in whatever compressors they have.

Very nice! I have been toying with the idea of something similar to that but made out of Aluminum. I just need to finalize my drawer/socket configuration first or make some smaller modular units that can be re-arranged as needs change. Will keep an eye out for this thread as it develops.

^^^THIS. The VIM stuff is very nice for the price. I ended up with Snap-on because my German car has TONS of them and they get regular use and I got lucky with a complete set for $60, otherwise VIM would have been my route.

A buddy of mine has a Victory Vision motorcycle and needs to remove the front axle which requires a 16mm hex bit. This is an unusual size (I don't have one) most sets go from 14-17mm and skip the in between increments. I know he doesn't have snap-on or mac money to spend on this so...

I think they make (or more correctly-source) decent stuff, better than the Chinese Craftsman stuff. You've got to spend a lot more to get better. I made the judgement call some years ago to spend that extra for better, but that doesn't mean the MC tools don't get the job done. I still have some...
