Wayne Dalton I-Drive Garage Door Opener

Wow, I guess I got a unit before any quality issues came to light. My neighbor has a WD iDrive installed onto his WD door and he hasn't had any issues either. Maybe only WD iDrives West of the Colorado River work correctly?

    RaceDeck waxed?

I might be attending a Meguiar's Detailing Clinic this weekend. If I do go, I'll bring an extra floor tile I have and I'll see what kind of product they have or could recommend.

do creepers/tool boxes and the like roll easily on race deck?

But when using a jack or jack-stands, use some caution if the wheels or contact areas are relatively small. I used a Sears Craftsman 3-Ton jack with no problem, but I used an off-brand Aluminum jack (1-Ton) with small wheels and it deformed the RaceDeck slightly when under a load. I will be...

    Cleaning a Race Deck Floor

Since I've had the RaceDeck flooring, I've been spot cleaning with a Scotchbrite pad, or I've been using a damp mop. But when the big guns need to come out, I'm using the H O O V E R! I've been using the Hoover Steam Vac for our carpets and tile floors, and I thought I'd give it a try on the...

    RaceDeck help needed, please.

Do use a table saw to cut the tiles. If you don't have one, or your buddy doesn't either, what better reason to puchase one!

    Pics of install

Too funny ... Yes, use a table saw to cut the edge tiles. You do want to have 1/2" to 3/4" gap between the tile and the wall. This stuff needs space to expand. When the sun is shining on tile, you can literally see the floor grow. Good job guys!

Wayne Dalton I-Drive Garage Door Opener

I love mine ... installed it with a help of a friend. I installed the unit onto a non-WD door. I just love not seeing the track-drive unit! On my To Do List, is to install a UPS to the iDrive, so that when the "Big One" comes, I can still open the door if power is not available.

    My Shop AKA the obsession

I use a similiar system in house ... whole house water filtration and softening system, by Kinetico. http://www.kinetico.com/residntl/index2.htm What sold me on this type of system is that it doesn't require an electrical source to power the control valve. Kinetico uses a mechanical flow...

    New Floor is IN!!

If you are interested in a Race Deck floor, contact Race Deck and ask for a couple of free sample tiles - I did and it allowed me to truely understand the product. Then you'll be able to understand what the Race Deck floor will sound like. www.RaceDeck.com

    New Floor is IN!!

I agree ... Race Deck flooring does have a unique sound when you walk on it. I wouldn't call it noisey either. BTW, nice floor TAH81.

    School me on Drywall!

Boy, things have changed ... my favorite knife for taping is the 10" knife (my coworkers were partial to the 12"). It was simply a thin sheet of tempered steel attached to a very comfortable handle. I can't see myself using a knife that is not flat. What seperates the boys from the men is how...

    School me on Drywall!

Drywall is fun! So is taping! But they require different skills! If you are going for a smooth finish or a more economical 'spray-texture', consider subbing out the taping/finishing. When I put myself through college, I worked for a Drywall/Taping contractor in San Francisco. As we...

    Mobile chop saw station?

Though I typically cut steel with this saw, occasionally I cut aluminum angle and bar. The carbide tipped blade works well with the aluminum. Basically, the saw acts like a milling machine. This saw is ideal for cutting metals to accurate dims without post-cut deburring.

    Mobile chop saw station?

Well, if you haven't purchased a metal chop saw yet or if you want another, I highly recommend the DeWalt "Cold Cut" 14" Multi-cutter DW872 chop saw. I have been installing various systems that require Unistrut steel channel and this saw cuts it like butter ... no sparks and no deburring -...

    Finally!! Garage Makeover (Pics)

Real nice set-up ... love your "Costco" toolbox! I'm looking at one as well. Is your garage a 3 or 4 car garage? Looks big! BTW, nice "Rainbow" football art! Don't you know that a lightning bolt doesn't curve? What do you want me to say, I've been a Raider's fan since the late 60's! Go...
