I've read many tutorials and videos. Alot of people use battery chargers 12v at around 5-10 amps. And it ends up reading ~3 amps. Mine is doing the complete opposite and multiplying the amps.

With a 5.5" jaw width. I'd say that's a great step up from a 3" vise.

Thanks. Clamped in place for now till I get my mag drill from the shop. I don't feel like climbing up on table and drill by hand.

Got it off a buddy who is cleaning up shop. Not the best vise, jaws are cracked and welded on. Unsure if the nut for the moving jaw is correct for this vise or not? But everything works and is better than that little dinky 3" China vise I was using before. I'm sort of contemplating tig brazing...
