    DIY ATV Build

A fun project would be upgrading a used golf cart with a lift kit, off road tires, etc. I bought a 1990 club cart last year for $500 that needed some work and it was a lot of fun. I didn’t get too deep into it since we keep it in Florida and I don’t have a lot of tools down there but, it would...

    1980s Sears Air Compressor

I have one like that but it has a leak in the tank. I’m not sure if I can get a tank?

    Sawmill

“How big is the Johnson (which looks good!)?” Not a question I wood have asked? We are sitting in snow and cold so not much happening at our mill right now. We did cut up a bunch of quarter sawn ash for projects next year.

    Sawmill

That’s a great idea ! How much wood can it hold and does it seem to be working well? I could use a small finishing kiln as well. All our wood is stacked outside covered and should be “seasoned” a bit before use

Clamp On Pallet Forks, Anyone Use Them?

We use them on a BX23 to put logs on the sawmill. They work quite well but i doubt we are no way near that weight. I am guessing maybe 600-800 lbs tops with this little tractor. They are very handy to have for other things as well.

Any good ideas on Hurricane Shutter Storage??

Mine fit nicely together between the joists in my shed. They are the right width and you can stack 8 or 10 in the space of a 2x6 wall. i have a piece of poly pipe that slips in a couple of pipe mounts to keep them from falling out. They are mounted high on the wall and sit on a piece of...

I would make a base for it but that is up to what you like. I always feel if someone is willing to do all the work on the table top the job should continue with the base, but I do know other options are popular

    Draining an uphill waterline?

To answer a few questions, we only needed to do this to replace the backflow valve and fittings The original galvanized fitting sprung a leak and flooded a section of the basement. The pipe to the barn is plastic and it is buried about 6 ft down so, putting a “t” in outside the house would...

    Draining an uphill waterline?

There is a lot of water in the line and a backflow valve installed. No drain in the basement so if I open the line it will be a big mess that’s hard to control. I have a shutoff but it is on the pump side of the backflow valve.

    Draining an uphill waterline?

I have a 1 1/2” waterline that runs uphill about 15 ft to a barn about 400 ‘ away. I need to drain it, can I push it uphill with a compressor? There is no option for a drain on the downhill side.

    Epoxy River Table advice

I have used and love Rubio Monocoat. I use the pure version and have been very happy with it. It does leave kind of a satin smooth finish but I this it is perfect for live edge tables. It won’t dull the epoxy, the difficult part is polishing the epoxy without burnishing the wood. If you’re...

    Epoxy River Table advice

Looks. good so far. Now for the sanding . Did you seal it first? If not it may stain a bit where it ran over the top and you will need to do some extra sanding there. I usually run them through the planer if they fit, if not I have a drum sander that works for larger pieces, this is...

    Epoxy River Table advice

I have never experienced cracks but the added epoxy should just flow into them and seal them up I think? I usually just pour about 1/4” in the river for the first pour and then let that set in to try and seal the bottom of the river, that way if there are any leaks it won’t be much. Looking...

Wood chipper recommendation “Wood” be appreciated

I have a wallenstien that runs off the pto on my tractor. It works great but it is heavy and a bit of a beast to put on the 3 point hitch. I don’t use it as much as I would like but then, we have 14 acres of bush and the brush piles are ok for wild animals to live in. It does make some nice...

I almost always do multiple pours and have never seen any issue. I sometimes color the bottom layer and finish the pour with clear and that always works.

    Epoxy River Table advice

Looks good so far. You can do a small pour first and let it stiffen up just to be sure that nothing is leaking. I’m not sure what you mean by “block up the slab”, but don’t give it any space under the slab or it will find a way to run in there. you will likely need to spend a bit of time at...

    Epoxy River Table advice

Make sure it is level (I imagine you did that}. I’m not sure if you intend to pour at the live edge on the outside but I assume not. I would clamp it down in the form and put some silicone or hot glue on the ends of the river and cuts to try and keep the epoxy from escaping the river and...
