Not to disrespect Merk, but that compactor is only good for sand and loose dirt. You actually need a Wacker Packer or Compacter Rammer or Jumping Jack. Those are made to compact dirt. I spent 10 years in the construction business and that plate compactor is useless on actually compacting soil...

I sell them and RARELY have any customers bring them in for warranty. I deal with some heavy duty shops and they seem to hold up well.

Best advice I can give you is: 1) If the sockets work correctly, grab the bolt or nut correctly, use them. or 2) If the rust bothers you, send them in a get a brand new one. We warranty sockets if the chrome is peeling. Why would that be? Because Cornwell stands behind their chroming process.

I'm not going to get in a ******* contest with s/o over your used sockets, but I know we sell an outstanding product and the ones you took pictures of have been abused and/or neglected. Cornwell has been making PROFESSIONAL GRADE tools since 1919. They don't send anything out flawed on purpose...

You may have a bad batch. I sell these sockets day in and day out and even the ones that have been abused (ie used on impact) don't look like that. Cornwell's warranty is one of the best in the business. Send them in and get them swapped.

I sell Znex. They are a really good product. I sell the ratchets and impacts. The only thing I don't like about them is they come with nickel batteries. I am spoiled using Lithium batteries on my Ingersol Rand set. Otherwise, good product, good warranty, nice price.:thumbup:
