I'm intrigued by the guys who've said that a 24/7 passive loop didn't make a noticeable difference in the gas/heating bill. It seems like that would be hugely inefficient, with the water heater running a whole lot. How is that not driving the bill way up?

Mine has 3 or 4 different settings too. I generally leave it in high and use the trigger to modulate. Every now and then I'll turn it down if I'm working on something delicate, like screwing electrical outlets down in their boxes. Don't worry about trying to always choose the right setting...

I like Makita s battery strategy - one pack, dozens of tools. I have four identical batteries that run everything from my drill to my chainsaw and everything in between. But if I were starting over again today the Milwaukee 12v line does look pretty nice.

There's no bad choice these days, get whatever is on sale 👍 My first set of sockets was a "Great Neck" brand Taiwanese special from AutoZone, about 20 years ago. Still in my toolbox and still used regularly. Never had an issue.
