The best road trips are usually the ones that don't make sense. They make memories.

I follow Ron's OMTM on IG, beautiful gravel riding down there. You likely have a long list of "I should make this" projects floating around in your head, but you could easily build a bike to rival the boutique bikes others are rolling at OMTM rides. It's also a project you could work on with...

Noooooooooooooo not even in the same league as a sleek euro wagon.

Wagon get a wagon. Hold out till you find the one you want. I have a rare 6 spd manual BMW X3 3.0 and it's really nice...but I wish it was an E46 Touring.

This is similar to how we can get a tree here in BC. BC Hydro allows cutting of trees under their tower lines. No charge, just need to print off an online permit. Can't cut them too close to Vancouver here, need to drive 20-30 minutes north but not too bad.

Great project. The fine textured looks nice. I keep looking for a good way to replicate the hammered texture paint of quality tooling. Also feel texture makes things look better.

Inspiring as always. Soo many details. Do you turn up your own countersunk washers? I've wanted to start using those on my mountain bike builds. Either figure out how to turn them on my little benchtop lathe or buy em.

Looking great. Are the carbon bits going to be raw carbon or black? There is a small Canadian bike company that released their carbon mountain bike and they use Cerakote H-series on it and do an ombré fade on it where you can still see some of the carbon through the light cerakote and it looks...

Looking forward to seeing more of the bike build. I love the adventure bikes that get a proper "custom" treatment like the WR450 that Le Motorgraphe did.

That's gorgeous. Congrats on pulling off the build. Inspiring story and documentation between here in IG.

This is making me really miss my old XR400. One winter I pull the engine and had a local shop deck the head and clean up all the porting. The work gave it a bit more snap instead of the usual lug. Pulling to see you make it to the end before the show.

Using the tube block on angle is pretty common in the bike framebuilding world. Here on my small benchtop I am cutting a 38mm OD downtube (0.9mm wall thickness) for a frame with a 46mm holesaw. The rotary table on a angle plate is also used for those that need a more dedicated set-up. To...

Can we set up a live web feed of Gregor's garage for the next two week? Just a single camera up in the corner showing the whole shop. Like one of those eagle nest cams waiting for the egg to hatch?

It's likely that the temper on your aluminium swingarm was changed when it was welded. In the bicycle world any aluminium that gets welded gets a post weld heat treatment to return the temper to it's original state. I vote new tubular steel swingarm. As long as your welds are good you won't...

Facom shares a lot of items with USAG and you can usually get the USAG branded item a bit cheaper.

Anyone ever bought tools from Mister Worker?

I've recently ordered some USAG wrenches (same as Facom 440's but a bit less expensive) and circlip pliers from them shipped to Canada and all come well packaged. Hot tip - create your profile and put the items you want in the cart but don't finish your checkout for a couple days, they'll...
