How has the weather been for you this winter? I wouldn't guess too bad as I haven't seen any snow in any of the photos. I know for much of the US it has been really mild and for the southern US it has been very easy on us. Keep at it,

Weather has been good. There was a good amount of snow, but I was pulling wire and nailing boxes rather than work on the outside. In the snow. And cold.

Electrician is coming to wire the panel and power me up Thursday or Friday. Yay!

Marretted a plug onto the furnace circuit to test - Furnace heats, yay!

I'll likely test the motorized damper and barn fan tomorrow. Yay!

Ordered 18 twin-tube fluorescents. With 32W daylights, I should have about 105,000 lumens. Yay!

Installed all the 110V plugs. Yay!

Wired the network drops and the tv inputs. Yay!

Pulled the fascia off because I totally screwed it up. Looks like poo. So I'm doing it again. Boo!

Have enough left-over siding to do the garden shed. Yay!

Left a message for the inspector to see if he is around next week for the occupancy inspection. Yay!

All the fascia covers have been replaced. Got the gutter and down spout across the front done. Couple around back to do today.

And....

We now have power.

I get to go to council on the 5th of next month for my variance application but I'm applying for my permit on Monday so I hope it goes through.

Passed the Occupancy Inspection with flying colours. Yay!

Got three more light fixtures to hook up. Waiting now for my electrician to give the go-ahead to close in the walls.

Nothing new to report.

Getting the Super 7 ready for the road again.

I did, however, that the allegedly oil-resistant "NOX-Crete Cure And Seal 1315" (put down by the slab company) dissolves with reckless abandon with gasoline. As in OMGWTFBBQ1! dissolves.

I have a friend who does concrete finishing - I've contacted him and he has a couple ideas. One of which is HP Spartacote.

.....and I ~did~ fix the fuel leak.

Met with my concrete-finishing-friend, and his associate who does custom flooring.

Option 1: HP Spartacote, which is awesome, but cannot handle welding slag and sparks - a significant part of my hobby.

Option 2: sealed and polished concrete.

I'm leaning to option 2.

I would go with 2 if for no other reason than I like the look of concrete in a shop, and it would seem to be the most durable.

No news on the concrete.

I asked my electrician if I should continue waiting for the Safety Authority. He said that they get the day of the call plus one more day. So.... I could have been insulating 3 weeks ago. Nice to know.

I pulled out my 10 gauge air compressor wiring since that's not going to be enough for a decent compressor. I only read my local supplier's online ad, which said 30A, which I wired for. Little did I know about turn on current, and motors, or maybe even looking at the manufacturer's manual even.

Instead, I picked up some 6 gauge and re-ran it. Never anything wrong with running fat wires.

Picked up 25 bundles of attic insulation and a roll of poly. Not really looking forward to this.

And got my recently acquired lowered GM squarebody trailer registered, so I can pull it behind my lowered squarebody GM. How cool is that! Means I get to list the wee trailer up for sale that I used to pull behind my (now sold) lowered Nissan Hardbody.

And...... trying a new spark timing map on the Super 7, so I have to go get some driving/datalogging in.

R40 insulation, 6mil poly, and most of the 5/8" drywall up in the machine shop. 11' ceiling.

The Princess Auto drywall-sheet-lifter-up-inator isn't sketchy AT ALL. I wasn't even a BIT afraid.

For some twisted and drunk reason, my website host has decided that my domain name (www.gwellwood.com) has expired, despite being paid and up-to-date into next year.

All of my pictures have been hosted there.

I have been set to "auto-renew" through my host for the past 7 years, and yet something has happened that nobody could figure out and fix over the weekend. There is a repair ticket open, which should (hopefully) remedy this mess Monday.

I am confident the pics will be back up in short order. I loaded the last picture into Photobucket because my website is down, but you guys are still important to me. (awww... shucks!)

Shop is cleaned out and empty. Floor finishers have brought in the grinding equipment, and are grinding the surface down to be properly sealed and polished. This is going to be good.

I'll be closing my eyes when I write the cheque for this, but it's the floor finish to be all floor finishes.

The concrete slab is being ground in preparation for a hardening/sealing and polishing.

The aggregate will be more visible - should look plenty cool.

Very nice! What did you fill the saw cuts with?
My in laws used to live in Naramata and we'd play in Penticton. Their house was on the lake and had a float plane dock. Miss the heck out of that place...

The saw cuts had strips of foam stuffed in them, and then a (I will likely get this wrong) poly-aspartic sealer thingie mixed with silica sand placed on top. It cured and was ground down even with the slab and then polished.

I hired a friend who does concrete finishing to do this job, I didn't do it myself.

This is a Rotary Revolution RTP10 lift. Local auto parts store had their special Trade Show pricing, so I had to act on it.

Back to insulation, and looking for a compressor.
