So, is your active duty career coming to an end ? Doing all this must have been an awesome side job during your stint in the AF.

I am on terminal leave until the end of the month. I have only been "Full time" in the shop the last month and a half. I will tell you Im working harder than I have in a long time (and that includes 2 deployments to the desert!)

While I have been active duty I have re-invested every bit of additional income to try and build the shop up as much as possible tooling wise, which has helped immensely.

Have you been trained, formerly speaking? Or have you just built your skill by tinkering and being in the shop all the time?

I'm also a DMS'er/major Mitsu fan and also in the Air Force. lol

I was a machinist for 9 years. If you are maintenance you will know what I did. (metals Tech)

Cnc work and programing is self taught. I am constantly trying to improve on my knowledge and pick up new skills, especially with tools I am not familiar with. Sheetmetal is my next big hurdle.

Exquisite work!!!

If I may make one small recommendation though, use a piece of sacrificial material and save your mill table from end mill marks.

Keep the pics coming, great work.

Im actually moving the shop from Yorktown, where I have been the last 5 years due to still being active duty. I am originally from Lyndhurst, so coming back to Clifton is my coming home! I will be full up in Jersey by the end of October, feel free to come on by. I will be rebuilding a client base from the ground up since a lot of my work requires that local interaction with the cars and clients.

Whats the best way to talk to you? Private message on here? Email? Text? Phone call? I'll contact you however you want me to do it.

Great pics by the way.

Careful not to give the end tanks to much volume; or you will get to much pressure drop and air stagnation (which hurts velocity and can cause pressure fluctuations)

But the fab work looks beautiful!

This setup will push 40+ pounds :eyecrazy:

I actually blocked off a portion of the end tank from inside to divert air to the charge pipe, It wasnt my call to design the feed end tank as large as it is, I would have liked to use a smaller one and come around with a 180 degree charge pipe but the customer wanted to go with a 90 out of the tank.

Thnks for the comments.

I know nothing about the end products you are producing, but I have spent enough time in a machine shop to say "wow". Very nice work! I am encouraged to see that your service training can be put to use.

You got some kudos from Nastyzen and other folks that have posted some seriously nice looking stuff. You should be proud of your work.

Better yet, how about some pics of your shop/tools ? :dunno:

HAHAHA, Pics for clicks!

Im actually moving into the bigger shop in jersey this week, so some of this stuff is already grouped in prep for the move. Usually its a lot more organized.

How tall is it?

Sorry for all the questions

shocwav3.......first off, thank you sir for your service for our Freedom!!!!!Kudos to you.

Secondly, very nice looking parts. I am VERY impressed, and I've been doing this most of my life. If you don't mind me asking, are you polishing the catch cans, or what are you doing to get the finish? Those look great. You sir, do some fantastic work.:thumbup::thumbup: I may have to be bending your ear sometime.

Very Nice!! Thanks for your service. What did you work on in the airforce?
A-10's
HH-60's
130's
F-15's
F-22's

Those are in chronological order!

Very cool.

No problem, I didnt mean to be short last night, Im in the process of moving the shop, and my brain in fried this week.

-3.00" OD on the can body, base and top are just under 3.25"
-It works out to about 7.5" tall, but the body can be customized to give you more or less volume. When I run them on 2.7t S4's they need to be an inch shorter.
-Drip tube is about 4", its just a plastic tube pressed in so the configuration can be swapped depending on which side you pick for the inlet/outlet.

Thanks for the positive comments. I really try to put out a nice finished product. Functionality is paramount, but the aesthetics is what sets it apart for me, and I really strive to make it the best product I can both visually and functionally.

The top and bottom are just the finish straight off the machine. ZRN 3 flutes give a hell of a finish, even on 6061.

The bodies are turned between centers on the lathe and have a skim cut taken off. No polish since I usually send them all to get anodized. I think there are 2 or 3 cans floating around that customers wanted raw, the rest go for anodized.
