Double check that Plomb 1/4" ratchet...look like it could possibly be a 9/32" drive.
Dang BC, you are going big on the machinists stuff lately! Cool!
Any markings on the small anvil (the larger one of the two in the upper right corner of your pic)? How many pounds is it?
X2!!

It's rare to find this much Starrett in such a short while. The other chore is getting rid of the 600 pounds of lead I found there![]()
Here is some of iteach small cube is approx 3.5-4 lbs. the sizes are mixed with small and larger with the coffee cans being full and I have more crates in the garage. Came with a gas melting pot too
One stop today and it wa worth it...? Prices were high but I did good for the money I put out
It's mostley Starrett but there is a large amount of B&S, Lufkin and others in there. No Plomb but I did get a bit of snap on and lots of reloading goodies
The small anvil is cast and is marked JSB. The larger one is much better quality and has layers of paint over a small oval label. I'm trying to removed the paint now and see what it says. It's weighs 8.5 lbs.

Hi Outlaw,
This is going back a few weeks, sorry, but I'm thinking that "Mastery Quality" DOE was made by Bridgeport Hardware and Manufacturing. (They did make MQ wrenches for Ward's, but they marked them Ward's.) It should have a BHM logo (all on top of each other) above the ISN, in quote marks, on the flip side. What are the sizes?
And what are the sizes and markings on the Barcalo?
If you're not attached to either, I may be interested in buying them, depending on the sizes and markings.
)Persistence pays off.... Finally found a (non-harborfreight) bench grinder on CL.Saw the ad for this tonight about 15 min after it was posted , called the guy and couldn't get out the door fast enough. $25
BC I'm 99% certain JSB is a Japanese co. I have two of those that are probably identical with yours. One was my Dad's and I know it's as old or older than I am, (but post WWII)
BC, is it soft (relatively) pure lead, or alloy? might be good for bullet making; or if Linotype, cutting with pure lead for bullet alloy.

I spend $20 there.

Thanks guys, and same here most complete set I've seen I think; Definitely the most complete in the wild!
3 bay, Not sure who makes the odd little ratchet, but under a magnifier, it's marked script "Ford"I just looked for that!
OK, I seem to have broken the January slump, but just barely!
I stopped yesterday on the way home from work and got a few things at one in my town. I was one of two buyers he had all day...I spend $20 there.
A pair of Wiss "Specials" (for SS and heavier gauge metal) and a pair old Wiss inlaid alligator "7's", 8" 3/4" drive Proto Extension, an odd body work dolly marked Porter Ferguson JD-6, ans not pictued a small SO "O-ring pick" P/N 3ash45h

The 2 PB Hammers, a 20 oz. Blue Point, and a nice but unmarked 32 oz. and lastly a 24" bar clamp marked "LUSI" (Italian?) never seen one, but seems to be good quality.

Today sucked till the end. all the drive by's had nothing worth getting and the one on my list locally were" Yes we have tools, lots and lots of tools but way back in the pile" "So later today?" "No probably in about three weeks!"![]()
Because things were so dry locally, I drove 11 miles (well out of my normal range) and went to an "estate sale", and hit what could have been the mother lode! I was restrained though because while they were selling off 60 years of tool collecting the knew some were worth some $$, and I even asked if they any any bigger vises, that he one exposed screw on the drive and was told that sold yesterday to a neighbor...
I should have take pics, but hindsight is 20-20; There were simply boxes and boxes of tools, most very clean, almost no rust, and many old turn of the century adjustable, braces, saws, a wide variety of tools, but mostly, not automotive. Some wrenches and sockets, but not a ton. I was pretty selective in what I got, but did well I think!
from loose tools here and there:
Proto ignition wrench, Thorsen 11 MM, Plvmb DBE, old hex drive ratchet, 2lb engineer's, hammer, a pump (needs a leather cup, which I think I have) leather stretcher - Pat 1887!, Bemis &Call adj, and a pair of mini tongs - I also had a "Superwrench" ignition wrench, but I think its dropped in the rig...

I saw this right off the bat and asked how much, and that was part of why I was selective, but wound up with it anyway!

Inside was all Long C Craftsman ratchet sets! nearly complete on sockets, and possibly over complete om the rest as there are dupes, including 3 long C ratchets! At Last!
![]()
And a few non-Long C sockets, mostly Craftsman, but one Williams one Champion and one no name.

Total at the estate sale today? $70! barely $1 a tool!![]()
Oooh, looks/sounds like possible Snap On. I have some Ford factory stamped tools of theirs. I take it that is a hex to square drive plug then.
Yep! Hex to square! P/N is R . 716 if that helps.
