Here is the pry bar up close on the numbers. It looks like a 202. Does anybody have any P&C tool catalogs with this tool inside?

I have some plvmb repop catalogues that have that in it. They call it a grease bar but I am not sure how you use it?? Any body have any ideas?? Good find though!

Saturday was nothing for tools, but my lovely wife and girls got a ton of Art supply's for cheap so they were happy. Then today after church my wife lets me go to a yard sale next town over (11 miles) on mothers day after lunch of course. So we went with 33 dollars in my pocket, man I wish I had more on me. This was the second day and close to the end.

Pictures 1-3 $20 for the lot, and i tested them to make sure than ran

Pic 1 Snap-on/blue point valve group
Pic 2 Thor valve group
pic 3 miscellaneous valve parts ( at lease 1 is blue point)

Pic 4 and 5 Proto 1/4 drive set like new with some writting $10

Pic 6 miscellaneous item's, Mac, plumb, New Britain and Bonney $3

So It was a great weekend after all.

It's for greasing leaf spring on old mostly pre-50's cars and trucks.

Sorry for being slow, but could you explain the process? Do you pry individual leaves apart? Do you load up the jaws with grease? I have passed up 4 or 5 of those things in the past, never would have guessed their purpose in a million years.

Should be perfect for my airbrush.

LOVE those vintage Workmates with the cast-aluminum frames!

Likewise! I have one of those that I purchased new in the mid 70's, and when I was on a military assignment to Saudi Arabia in 1978, I took it with me, then brought it back. I use it all the time. Great product.

didn't get the little drill press out yet, hopefully tomorrow,
brought a treadmill (works) for $10.00 at Good will, have to borrow a truck this week.
But here is from this weekend.
the columbiana vise is weird, says Made in USA, but never saw anything just like it.
paid $5.00 for the Craftsman book and the vise.
The WV plate l paid $3.00, she wanted $5.00, but l said it was sort of cool, but not $5.00 cool just yet, so she said $3.00, and I said, Oh, OK, she was like "are you sure"? I was like Yeah, it's OK............LOL
What did they do in the past, it says "1960" stamped right on it, give you a new metal plate every year?
The little heart shelf was only a dollar, (It's made nice, they put a lot of effort into it, it's actually over kill.........LOL)
The file was a Dollar. (need to put different handle on it,its a broom stick one) he wanted $2.00 (fair) but l said "I have a Million" ,he said "give me a Buck".
Oh, the self stick signs, l paid a dollar for the 6. (they were a quarter each)
there pretty cool.
the small hammer handles were 50 cents each.
The No Smoking sigh, one will go in the car, and one in the wood-shop.
The little motorcycle plate on the wall was my old one, they changed them,
but see the "Victory" plate on the wall?
Does anyone know what that is from?
I don't think Victory motorcycles were around long enough to be what it's from.

I got bored today,so I went through some inherited stuff I've had stored at my grandpas basement shop for 16+ yrs, and took it home.
I have some distant relatives renting the home, but I keep the shop door locked since I still have lots of grandpa's stuff there.

Just below the ford wrench,I've not seen that mark before,it's the only mark on the wrench.
That Ford wrench is pretty cool. Just for grins I tried to find the origin of the mark on the other wrench and nothing came close on Google.

The mark on that other wrench has been mentioned on this site in the past, I can't remember where or when but someone will know. Maybe try posting a pic of the wench by itself and ask the question, sometimes words are overlooked when in long posts like that.

Yep, some states did. I've got a 1971 license plate collection from all fifty states, and as late as then they were issuing new plates every year in Kansas and a few other states.

Thundermug,

Great looking chair. I bought the exact same office chair, except in red vinyl, from a local auction house a few months back...paid about $7, but the wheels were scraped flat. Since then i have disassembled it and am working on a total restoration. It will be my new office chair and should go perfectly with the tanker desk i am just about done restoring!

I just picked up this 71 lb Wilton 450S vise for $100. Not the cheapest but not terrible either, it's actually in great shape. despite the bad pic.

It's going to be surprise for a friend. Although It will cost him a lot of beers and bbq's.

jawoodworking - I've been looking for that exact chair at a reasonable price for a long time. The wheels a round, but need grease. It's got a thick layer of yellow grime from cigarette smoke, most likely. I'm going to break it down and clean it up. Someday.

This Stanley set was $5....I didn't notice until I got home that the quick-release button on the ratchet was missing! (It won't hold the sockets )

DSC00128.jpg

Last stop the two guys at the table had a couple of tool bags full of tools of different quality.
While I was digging through the bags, one guy handed me a plastic box and said "fill this up and I'll give you a good deal".....So, I picked out some of the better tools and he said "$5"......Cool!

Here's the plastic box.......

I knew when I found the S-K ratchet that it slipped, but figgered it just needed cleaning.....Nope!, couldn't be so lucky....

Still a good day in spite of a few broken items.......

Got up this morning and lounged about before heading to a sale about a mile from my house. Spent all $12 I showed up with but got some goodies

Cincinnatti Tool Co. Clamp with a hole cut in it (?)

Sheet metal snips? Haven't actually seen any in person before
Top: Pexto
Bottom: Crescent
What's a good way to sharpen these to usable?

Workshops Bolt Gauge
Kastar Feeler gauges
General pipe cutter
Finally, a Dayton brand light with magnifier. Needs a bulb, but I got that for $2 so I'm pretty thrilled with that.

SNIP

Those Pexto's are beyond hope and dangerous to use; PM me for an address for safe disposal! :pimpflash

For the other pair:

Take the nut off and separate,
Derust them
  • lightly Flat stone the mating blade surfaces to remove any burr/nick high-spots.
  • Set up in a fine grinder (low speed if you can...) for the angle of the edge and sharpen like scissors with light passes. the wheel should be cutting down, the mating face resting on the grinder rest.
  • lightyl lube the pivot bolt

to reestablish the nut's "locking feature":

  • grind a punch to a small triangle
  • lay the nut on a solid support (block of steel) so the contact surface is down.
  • in three spots, hit the nut with the triangular punch (Don't kill it, just upset the last thread...)
  • tighten the nut so the snips work freely but are not loose...

And Bob's your uncle.

I also got a new hose and brush for the shop vac I pulled out of a dumpster a few weeks back.
Total cost: $30 for a 4hp Genie that seems a little beat up but still works fine.

Well here's my first post to this thread, not easy to find good deals in my area.

Got 64 pieces for $13 at a garage sale, all US made except for 1 or 2. Some of them have a little surface rust, just have to clean them.
This guy was cleaning his dad's garage, storage room and shed. All of dads tools were vintage50s, 60s and 70s, he worked in refrigeration I guess, there were a lot of parts for that. The son said he still has a lot more to go through so will have more this weekend, I'll make sure to stop by and see what they have.

Proto 20" extension & hose clamp pliers, Thorsen 3/8 sliding t-handle & ratchet (Japan)

Craftsman ignition & large wrenches, Snap on wrench & Thorsen speed handle

These started as broken wrenches & screwdrivers that I exchanged at Sears on my way home. The Sears clerk let me take different ones than I brought in b/c they didn't have part #s....

Some misc including a scrapper, Klein auto nutdriver, Craftsman "clutch" tip driver (found out what this was thanks to GJ), file, punches, scissors, etc

Bunch of sockets, Craftsman V, Proto, Challenger, Duro Chrome, Indestro....

What is that triple fist driver thing?

The "Wadsworth Electric Mfg" thing? I got it just b/c I've never seen it before. I posted in another thread to try to find out. According to another GJ member is
"...used for servicing circuit breakers. The serrated cup is used to hold the head of rivets used on breakers so the crimp side can be drilled out without spinning the rivet...."

here's the thread with more pics:
