To quickly answer -
No - the box wasn't $5
Yes - I paid more
No - it's not as good as Outlaws $5 pick
No - there is no reason to dislike or be jealous
No - it wasn't too mean
Every time I try to do a detailed inventory, life keeps getting in the way. So here are the highlights.
Sear's multi meter (early 70's??) still works
8pc Vandium Tool Co. Combo wrenches (the reason I grabbed the box)
Cman RHFT 3/8dr ratchet (marked with patent number)
5 lg. Camper's "safety pins "
Cman push button tape measure
S-K #40622 3/8dr universal socket
Dunlap hex drive socket kit
various Craftsman 3/8dr =V= and -V- sockets and other tools
They wanted $45 for the box. The guy doing the pricing seemed to think that the multi meter was a big ticket item (it's a $2 item at best), but didn't think much of the Vandium wrenches, which I was really after (don't know why, just had to have them). I was only able to talk him down to $35 for the lot. I was trying for $20, but he wouldn't bite.
In the end, I was in a rush as well as jonesing for a hit after my self imposed restrictions, so I ponied up the money. I didn't overpay, but not my usual score.![]()
Good stuff, I would definitely have grabbed it also. If only for the RHFT (a 3/8 still eludes me) and the tape measure (Can't pass up a vintage one in good condition). I like the box too, that would work well in the house or in my office.

It does now!

You definitely ****, Craptain. Congrats.
. All told I think it was about $6.
