Funny how the universe works.
Right after congratulating jrg on his Wilton score two hours ago, I flipped over to Facebook Marketplace for a quick scan of the Tools category before I returned to working on the Impala. I do this all the time, and rarely find anything that gets my attention.
Today must be a rare day. I swiped down by one page, and see this thumbnailed ad:
The ad was 4 minutes old. Having just seen jrg's find, I knew exactly what I was looking at. I jumped on Messenger, made contact with the seller and beat feet over there.
It's a Wilton 9400 bullet with the 4" jaws and swivel base. The jaw screw turns smoothly and the jaws and anvil pad are crusty but not abused--not bad for a vise made in 1957! I gladly paid their asking price of $37.
There's a sticker that was under a thin layer of paint that I can't quite make out. If no one here recognizes it, I'll repost over on the mega vise thread.
EDIT: Nevermind, got it! It's what's left of the Five Year Warranty sticker from Wilton.
Congrats sir, and may I say you also ****!!
