So sorted out the good stuff and got rid of all of the hardware stuff. Overall its mostly craftsman with a few other brands sprinkled in such as knipex, proto, Cresent, and Klein. There's a complete set of 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drive socket set. Standard wrenches, craftsman screwdriver set, adjustable wrenches, craftsman hex keys and some craftsman pliers, dikes, needle nose, and so on. There was some nice triumps drill bits which are not cheap! I took the wrench sockets and put those in my wrench drawer for future use.

Overall this will be a good set for my middle child as she works on lawnmowers!

Next post will be more pics of the tools from the boxes.

Looks like a lot of Craftsman goodness there. Excellent score, Congrat's

The days and time are getting short, so I was happy to hit this sale today, even though it was a little out of my normal radius. It looked like the house had been vacant but cared for over the last few decades, as all the normal stuff was gone but the house was still full of treasures, although not much in the way of tools. But it was packed with books, mostly juveniles from the interwar period and pop fiction from the late '40s onward with not many real gems. But I did pick up a few things:

A Red Head detachable barrel shotgun bag, chassis punch in the box, Plomb speeder, misc. sockets, PowrKraft t-bar handle, OK brace adaptor for dies, and a Champion sparkplug box. Also,

and those are what made me travel so far, or at least one of them. The City of Trembling Leaves is a novel about Reno from its greatest author, the man who wrote the wonderful The Ox-bow Incident. I spotted the cover in one of the online ad pics and was lucky enough to snag it, along with yet another copy of Cannery Row.

I also had the great fortune to meet GJ member Stormking, as the hunt for Plomb can take you far afield.

I am glad you hit that sale! I saw the ad and pictures and knew that was your kind of sale!

Last week, nothing until the last stop.
From the right, a made in Germany folding ruler, Miller Falls multi tool and two tins each having some surprises.

This week slow too.
A "Streamline" tape by Master Rule MFG.
A set of pipe jaws for an exposed screw vise, Mayes level (I collect them) and a "large" adjustable wrench!

Brian

Congrats to Outlaw !

I Voted !!

Old Radar snuck in a You ****-worthy pile the other day when I wasn't looking!

Madison's score was also impressive! OK, he sucked too!

A massive Wright 1” drive ratchet. Well, actually 3 massive Wright 1” drive ratchets. It turned into a deal for all three I couldn’t pass up. I’ve wanted the long ratchet for a while but didn’t think I’d find it in the wild.

Snap On 30mm wrench, lg Wilton C clamp, Matco and Ridgid stubbies.

Nice big haul 3bay! You could start you own table at the flea with all that stuff!!

I used to do that on occasion. No way I'd want to do it regularly.

My mother has suggested many times that I open up a store.
No thank you.

I like her latest suggestion though. She says the next time I go to the flea market I should make a pile and tell the seller this is what I would've bought, and then leave. .:bounce::) What fun is that? We both had a good laugh about it.

Couldn’t pass this one up. It was a little higher priced than what I usually find them for but it was worth it.

1HP Sears best craftsman block grinder with original manual.

The manual has a date of 1/78.

Wow, nice grinder, bagged!
Ha-ha, 3bay; MrsLs sometimes offers to set up a table in the yard with my own stuff on it, to charge me to bring it back inside.

:lol_hitti That's great. My fiancee has asked me numerous times over the years which tool or ratchet is my favorite. I would never want to divulge such information for reasons such as that, haha!
I have to watch it because now she's learned names such as Plomb, Willliams, Snap-On,etc. Craftsman, she calls The Crafts Man.

Chef, I picked it up as a set filler for my Mac wrenches. It’s been bugging me without a 7/8”. That’s a size I reach for at times, I was actually excited to find it.

Several OCD members probably just keeled over at the thought.

It actually bothered me a little looking at your set with a "NON-Sabina 7/16 wrench": :)

As I predicted in a PM to Beemer 7 days ago, his 2020 PotY runner-up consolation prize would be hosting in 2021, when he would not only be ineligible for PotY, but have to make the trophy for the winner. No good deed goes unpunished! :)

It gets weirder: see my post on the vote thread.

From half a century’s interest in scifi, I think the best response to a temporal anomaly is simply to ignore it. Even if it doesn’t collapse on its own, the initial effects, while jolting, are rarely as catastrophic as those accumulated through attempting to correct it.

So, are we moving from U-pic to UBIK?

The Mods "Fixed" the poll...

Well, that just doesn't sound right (in today's world)...

That's just twisted!

I can't begin to wrap my head around this today.

If you ever decide to let loose of the Thorsen Navy sockets, I wouldn’t mind adding them to my Navy toolbox. Being both a Thorsen and Navy tool collector makes them doubly appealing to me.

Got an interesting Facebook buy yesterday. Guy had 5 AT T/A tires (one new, others near half tread) on Mercedes G class rims for $1000. No takers. He dropped the price to $200, wanted them out of his way. I picked them up, would like to try the slightly bigger tires on my FJ, and the rims will bring me $500 or so on ebay after fees and shipping.

Great score Dave. Free tires and $300 cash into your wallet!

Your story reminds me of a deal I made years ago. There was a set of 4 - 13 inch 4 lug alloy wheels NIB listed on eBay with a really high shipping charge. The opening bid was 99 cents with no reserve. The seller was only a few miles from me so I threw in a one dollar bid and won the auction. I picked them up but never found a buyer with a car having wheels with that unpopular size. A scrapper was cruising thru my neighborhood and I stopped him and negotiated $40 for the wheels.
