UPDATE. Got to HD right after they opened and used their computer to locate the openers- says there are none in stock. Floor walker says there are none.

When I looked it up on their computer it said there were two in stock at the store about ten miles up the road, so I drove up there. Using their computer it said there were three in stock. I noted where they were located, went there, and couldn't find them. I walked a couple aisles over where the garage door openers are and there were three just sitting on the floor in front of the display.

I hefted two up to the register and the clerk thought the price was mis-marked. I told her they were on sale so she rang them up. I showed my mil ID and she said they didn't stack the discounts. I thought that was odd since I've never had that problem before, so asked if she could check. She called a manager who said she's could do it "this one time only" so out the door I got two for $97.12 each.

Nice! I just replaced mine last year or I’d be out looking for one myself!

I got lucky today. Some of you might too. Not sure when these kits dropped to $150 but there are still some floating around!

Nice! I've used that saw before and it's a beast! Now I'll have to stop in a see if I can find it to go with the Mitre and circular.

Busy day yesterday. Went out after lunch and swapped the old chain drive openers out for the two new belt drive models. Was easier than I was expecting since it wasn't a clean install and the ceiling brackets were already there.

Also programmed both Jeeps for both doors, installed the inside push-buttons, programmed two of the four remotes (don't need four remotes), and installed/programmed both outdoor keypads.

The new ones are so quiet I *almost* can't hear the garage doors opening or closing if I'm inside. There's still the noise from the wheels squeaking and bouncing over the track transitions, but these are 15-20% of what those old chain drives sounded like. They seem just a little slower too.

I unplugged the first one and tested the battery backup- much slower but those batteries have been sitting in the box for probably two years, so I'll try them again today after they've had a full 24 hours of charging behind them.

EDIT to add: I thought that maybe I could get even quieter if only they made rubber wheels for the door tracks- and what do you know, they do. Ordered two ten-packs to do both doors. Ordered from Lowes since I can get the mil discount for items I order; HD won't do that.

My local store put those concrete screws and anchors on sale about six weeks ago. I waited until they were 75% off and loaded up on a bunch of different sizes since they are handy to have on hand.

On another note, my store has stopped selling messed up paint and a decent discount. If a customer refused to buy a paint or they messed up the color when making it they would mark it down to $9 for a gallon, or $30 for a 5 gallon bucket. I used to find all kinds of crazy colors that I could use for painting things I didn't care about. For the past two weeks they have been putting those paints out and writing $5 dollars off, or 10% off on the can. The paints have been stacking up ever since. I was just wondering if that is the new policy or just my local store being crazy.

Some of those damaged areas are up to the managers discretion I think. One of my store always has the damaged lumber priced at 70% off and the next closest got rid of that cart a couple of years ago. As always- YMMV

Even when the batter is fully charged it is still really slow to open the doors.

Let us know how the rubber rollers work out, I've got really good hearing which means my ears are sensitive to high pitched noises. Would be nice to quiet the door down a bit more at my place as well.

I have a similar door opener has you, not sure it is the same model as yours. When using the battery it's slow but it does what it needs to do. I imagine if they make the motor spin faster, the quicker the draw down on the battery.

I figured it would be slower, but wasn't sure what effect the battery sitting in the box for over a year might have. None! lol

I ran it up and down seven times on the battery and while slower, it was still going strong.

Once the wheels come in I'll swap them out and lube the hinges, see how quiet I can get them. One of the door tracks is misaligned in the curve, right where it transitions from vertical to horizontal, and that causing a thump, so I'll need to address that if I can. That's the side that's the workshop so even if I can't fix it it's no biggie. As long as the car side is quiet nobody will be disturbed if I need to pull in or out.

Saw the Liquivac today in a store, hadn't even seen it in this thread and figure I'd get one. Lucky for me it rang up as a penny, thought for a bit the cashier wasn't going to let it go through but after 2 minutes of trying to get approval from someone I was out the door with it for a penny (hint: Pottstown, PA store doesn't have any left). Box was open and dirty but looks to be complete never used. No go on the 3000 watt Honda generator though they did have the 2000 watt one marked down $100.

Home Depot is really screwing up on this. Ego has the best cordless yard tools available and they just threw it all away and gave to to Lowes.

That's OK. Somewhere, some executive(s) got a giant bonus for making this happen...

I expect we will see some good clearance deals soon...

Good Job HD on screwing that deal up. Time to look for more deals on EGO stuff, I already have string trimmer, blower and hedge trimmer, time for the big dog blower and a new mower if the prices are right, oh and maybe some new batteries.

I went to the home depot website and sorted outdoor power equipment by brand = Ego. Nothing is on sale.

It's never going to show store clearance online. And with HD & Ego no longer partners, you likely won't see a sale on them. Either they will go straight clearance, or a majority will be sent back to Ego. It all depends on if HD owns the product, or only gets paid when an Ego unit sells.

As they haven't been pulled from shelves, and a few items have started to clearance (mower, snow blower), I have a feeling it all will go very soon.

My local HD discounted all their EGO stuff by around $100. Everything besides the mower is already sold out locally.

Has anyone tried doing a buy at full price, then if item goes on clearance, return, rebuy at clearance? Or buying full price, then going to other store that lists it on clearance, and get refund difference?
