There is tons available from Amazon, cheap and as far as I can tell so far great quality. I bought a bunch after trying out one assortment, I think it was like $10. Scotchlocks are definitely spawn of the devil.

Yeah I believe it. It's like 35 and windy here. Whee.
Today's progress. Bed installed, hole drilled. Measure, measure measure. Cut once.
The other hole was where the rednecks welded on a hitch, then cut the ball off, then bolted a hitch on top of it. It was a damn mess.

B and w didn't give me any options on moving the hole, it had to go there. I think the previous owner thought welding it on axle centerline was the way to go. They are usually forward of axle a little to put some weight on the front axle too. I sure like the factory hitch though. The copy I made for the last truck I had to crawl under and pull the pin. Other than that it was the same.Lol, my truck is nearly the same way. There's a hole cut in the bedliner where the original weld-on ball was (it was a 1/4" steel plate with a welded ball that sat ON TOP of the OEM steel truck bed and bolted to the frame rails, but then under the old ribbed bedliner). I also put on a B&W turnover ball (I don't actually turn it, just carry the ball inside the truck), but moved it 6" ahead of the axle centerline, so I have the double-holes....
I blew out a fuel hose last fall and have to lift the bed off this season to probably replace all the lines...last did them in 2004....got a whole dry erase board of projects for my 6 vehicle fleet![]()

Yeah lots of guys do that too. I didn't want to touch the oil on the truck at the moment. :Eek:My truck uses an oil pressure switch for the pump.
