There is tons available from Amazon, cheap and as far as I can tell so far great quality. I bought a bunch after trying out one assortment, I think it was like $10. Scotchlocks are definitely spawn of the devil.

Got the gooseneck hitch final installed yesterday and the fuel tanks squared away. Had to cut a qtr inch off one line and an inch off the other. Both will work perfect.

Now to get the wiring done.8b3becc2c01e087302e22fb99c40b212.jpg8267da59fc7f1920e1e8ce33635ae582.jpg17c7548f614a7051713bb1543a1938f1.jpg

The b and w turnover ball is rated at 30k and 7500 pin. More than the truck can do. Thanks for the support. I am so ready for this to be done. Harness work today and tomorrow.

Could be worse I just got a few more inches of snow and it looks like we are going to have snow showers off and on for the next couple days.

To be honest, i wasn't sure it actually was adhesive lined. It didn't stick when you flattened it like all the other ones i've used, so i did a sample, and it oozed out. I think it's there, just really light. It's certainly cheap, but seems like it worked ok.

The end result is really all that matters, I can’t remember the brand that I bought, but I am willing to bet it is almost all the same stuff.

I don't know, but think you're probably right. I got it from amazon like you said.

i got home a little early today, was at SAE congress today. Got the new harness installed and both fuel tanks installed with both sender units. The harness fit like a glove. Blew out the fuel lines with compressed air, everything seems to flow ok. I will install the new valve tomorrow and work on the second harness. I'm integrating the fuel pump wiring into the fuse box, like a superduty. I've had some trouble with the add on relay and fuse which was just floating around loose. I'm real happy with how this is coming together. Hopefully all my fueling issues are history. Now need to read up on harpooning the tanks. For filling.

Barely got the fuel selector valve in tonight. So damn cold I couldn't feel the parts I was touching. Just ridiculous for middle April.

Yeah I believe it. It's like 35 and windy here. Whee.

Today's progress. Bed installed, hole drilled. Measure, measure measure. Cut once.

The other hole was where the rednecks welded on a hitch, then cut the ball off, then bolted a hitch on top of it. It was a damn mess.2d2d2435ec7be3302df33138aeb67d89.jpg

Possibly, but to do it right the bed needs to be off. I don't have the time. 3 projects stacked up behind this.

Working on wiring this morning. I absolutely hate bad wiring jobs, since I spent several years as a Ford wiring harness engineer I know what I should be doing. The quicky job from last time is being redone. I removed all the locks from the factory fuse panel and put in my own factory relay and connections for the fuel pump. Added wires to one of the frame harnesses. Should be almost 100pct by today.

Then I made fuel tank vents by drilling the old rollover valves and installing 90 deg plastic npt hose barbs. Permatex2 for sealer and hot melt glued the two plastics together. Seems like they were both thermoplastic. 750559c9e8cd15148a4df0d94c536362.jpge0fa1a30cb4a185b91be24ee48d759e0.jpgcdf87c8c6b40576ada6480fc3e92f72d.jpg

Lol, my truck is nearly the same way. There's a hole cut in the bedliner where the original weld-on ball was (it was a 1/4" steel plate with a welded ball that sat ON TOP of the OEM steel truck bed and bolted to the frame rails, but then under the old ribbed bedliner). I also put on a B&W turnover ball (I don't actually turn it, just carry the ball inside the truck), but moved it 6" ahead of the axle centerline, so I have the double-holes....

I blew out a fuel hose last fall and have to lift the bed off this season to probably replace all the lines...last did them in 2004....got a whole dry erase board of projects for my 6 vehicle fleet  :D

Ouch. My white truck was like that. Ball welded on a 3ft by 4ft plate and bolted thru. I yanked it off and built a b and w copy.

The fuse box is done. Tested good, only energized during start and run. Same as super duty. I did not use an inertia switch, both because I don't have one, and with the diesel, it's not as critical. If I get to where it's hit so hard it's pumping all over, I've got bigger problems than fuel.420a76aeef5dd9e0e754ed6771f33d2e.jpgfef6e1e9d4d2002d97f52f434e7454d7.jpge54855eda6ebfbffb1171249cf20da43.jpg

B and w didn't give me any options on moving the hole, it had to go there. I think the previous owner thought welding it on axle centerline was the way to go. They are usually forward of axle a little to put some weight on the front axle too. I sure like the factory hitch though. The copy I made for the last truck I had to crawl under and pull the pin. Other than that it was the same.

My truck uses an oil pressure switch for the pump.
Yeah lots of guys do that too. I didn't want to touch the oil on the truck at the moment.

There used to be somebody that made a fuel pump controller for efuel obs but I think they're **** up now.

Yes! We have fuel pressure! Both tanks, good pressure. Everything works correctly. One problem left. The rear tank vent I made is too tall. I will have to find a solution.

Yes, I am ok. I spent a week in Texas helping my bro out. We turbocharged his projects and when I got back I got busy but not on stuff I wanted to. :(

Grass is long and trying to get the mower going. Had a physical at the Dr Friday. Saturday out of town working on an aquisition.

Gratutitous work shots at bros.

Been working on the mower most of the day. Think i narrowed it down to the starter. did manage to get it out, but NOT FUN. Horizontal shaft opposed briggs twin. That starter aint made to come out easy. Grass is LONG. I have no recourse. The mower doesn't move without pulling drive chains. Not easy. I work on it where it stops. Not happy. I've got too much to do...

Ugh.
