Note to file : have a peak at the possible side effects.:shocking:
Steve, here in the states the drug companies advertise their products but often don't mention what they treat. The ad tells us to "ask your doctor if Cyanide Staffalococcus is right for you." The ad then races through the common side effects and almost always finishes with the less common ones, like death.

I skimmed the side effects of Opdivo and did not see death listed so if I were you, I wouldn't spend a lot of time on their list -- it made me feel a little crook.

1/2: sounds like pretty good news all the way around to me so keep up the great progress on your health and best of luck with your always growing TO DO LIST.

just curious since you are still working and seem to get more done than most of us retired guys do you ever look back at your TO DO LIST and look at the items you checked off or just look around and smile?

cheers (I just posted a homemade Chai drink on the Get Healthy thread if you might want another option for a pick me up drink in the morning, but it does have a little sugar in it) and it's TASTY with almond milk!!

Just checking in Steve. Glad to see all your treatments are going well. Looking forward to some pics of your to do list this weekend.

Bret

Thank you Bret.

Smart move Steve. Shop work is good for the immune system; stress, not so much.

Bobby absolutely

Bob l haven't spent a lot of time looking at their list at all as reading it does make you feel crook. So far the only side effects have been a little tiredness and a bit of joint pain but apart from that all is good.

I am ticking along nicely just doing what I can then resting a little. I spent most of yesterday doing the procurement thing and picking up what I needed for the week end plus visiting a couple of our recycling places as you never know what's on offer.
That said I seems that the rustier things are, the more expensive they become.:headscrat

Yes Drives I always make reference to my To Do Lists and I do smile as things are ticked off :) but it also reminds me what I have ahead to look forward to.

I will check your drink out, thanks for the tip..

Back to the Shed..

Many times what the "sometimes death occurs" drugs are treating a condition I would live with anyway.

Rust has it's place, like on old stuff sitting outside which will never be used. Otherwise, I'm wrong too.

1/2: Rusty things around here seem to go cheap for the most part, but there is a growing group that like that PATINA (that I call NEGLECT) and are driving prices up.

here's the recipe for my Chai drink that we are putting 2/3 in a frozen mug with 1/3 Almond milk for our morning pick me up that you might like as a substitute for coffee. one glass to get me started then a gallon or so of homemade ice tea during the day keeps me running nicely at the moment.

are you still working 3 days a week or back to full time other than Dr. appointments? drone flying or driving out to visit some of those cool vacation type work sites you are responsible for keeping running doesn't sound all bad if you have to work.

have a great week.

Riven you are right there:thumbup:

Hope you're concentrating on the "take things easy for a while" task...

Andy I certainly am

Andy yes it certainly does but you are not wrong:thumbup:

Drives out here the rustier it is the higher the price in particular when it comes to Yard Art be that an old car, farm machinery and the like.

Thanks for the recipe, much appreciated. By the amount you have done over the last few months it has to be working well.

I am working full time now except for doctors appointments and my Immunotherapy infusions every two weeks.

My work has been mostly office work apart from the odd site visit and some drone duties for our Surveys team which suites me fine at the moment.

Thank you one and all, have top day..

Wow!!

Looks like a fun auction with lots of goodies to bring home. I hope you took the trailer with you. :lol_hitti

Bob it was certainly a great auction to attend let me tell you.

Spend spend, spend!!

Andy I spent spent and spent not really but I did buy a burger..

Here is just a small portion of what was on offer mostly heavy industrial stuff that I would need to build another shed to house.

View media item 84009

Viewing was between 8.30 and 10.30 then the doors were closed and the auction per say was held out in the bitterly cold front of the premises due to the large number of registered bidders and by the time I left there was in excess of 500 registered. The lots were then brought up on a big screen.

Every thing was well layed out and catalogued:thumbup:

Andy I did think of you when I saw all these buckets of scrap brass and aluminium.

View media item 84011

Of interest was this Universal Mill with T Slotted work bench shaper.

View media item 84010
The mill was cast and hand built by the proprietor many years ago when he first went into business and could not afford one, he is in his nineties now.

The workmanship, level of detail and finish on the machine was absolutely outstanding.

I would have been buying for the sake of buying to be honest.

Did you buy anything other than the Burger? A well run Auction is always a pleasure to attend.

HOTFR8 no nothing at all and it was an extremely well run auction.

It was a bit chilly for me being out in the cold as it exacerbates the joint soreness I am feeling with the Immunotherapy even though I was well rugged up.

Chips and a soft drink. :lol_hitti

I've been guilty of that once or twice to also be honest but I'm learning patience at live auctions to wait for the right item and price. It's part of the fun I think to properly pace yourself and bid correctly.

A well run auction is indeed a fun event and.

Today I have to agree is a day to be warm.

HOTFR8 it has been a bitterly cold few days now. I am looking forward to a few days sun shine let me tell you.

Steve, thanks. I doubt I'll ever catch up on all that's been going on. Got to just move ahead from here I guess.:)

Dan it is great to see you back posting. Your right there has been a bit going on here of late..

Bob I totally agree patience at an auction is a virtue for sure and I am still learning. It was a great auction.

I wish I could send some of my extra degrees to you, I feel like we have about 25 or 30 to many right now. I am not a fan of the upper 80s. I prefer the high 50s or low 60s, they make me so much more productive.

It doesn't get all that much colder than 50F on an average winters day in 1/2Cup's town, and not so often below 30F at night - but I'm sure a few more degrees would surely not go astray.

Strouty we could certainly do you a swap to balance the equation right now.

Personally I am a 77 F type person 12 months of the year..

Ralf99 too right a few more degrees would not go astray:thumbup:

We are so different. Upper 80's is when I need a fan.

Andy me too and anything over that its air conditioning time.

I hope it is a little warmer when I come to visit in July. So far it has been colder than Auckland most days and I may have to bring more than a suit jacket!

Drives yes some nice sunny days would be great for the soul. 90 degrees is just a tad tooooo warm for this black duck.
Still looking for at least some of you warmth.

I had Immunotherapy #3 on Tuesday and all went well however I am starting to feel some of the side effects now and feeling just a little more fatigued than usual, have a bit of joint soreness ( something that I do not normally suffer from ) and loosing my appetite just some what but ticking along nicely.

I really did not need anything at the auction to be honest but it was a great day..

All a few post back we were discussing how rust sells. Well Mrs1/2 Cup recently went an brought these three rustic pieces of " garden art " at a local Garden Centre they seem to be all the rage at the moment.

At least you don't have to water them.:headscrat

Mind you I have not gotten around to install them properly yet.

View media item 84080

At $48 AU each:shocking: I thought to myself " self you could knock up something like that ".

Not that I need yet another project but this one should be low impact.

What came to mind was to do some metal art to compliment the Water Wheel garden feature I did a few months back.

View media item 80336

Thinking about things I thought what better to complement a Water Wheel than Bull Rushes in rusty metal as they seem to go hand in hand.

View media item 83928

So that's my mission at the moment.

One of them any way.

Awesome water wheel Steve. So those are Bull Rushes over there? We call them Cat Tails on this side of the pond. Either way, a great compliment to the water wheel.

1/2: funny you mention Mrs. 1/2 buying and liking things that we probably could make out of our scrap pile cause Mrs. Drives does the same thing. that's maybe why she puts up with all my STUFF, but I need to turn out more cool projects to keep her happy. best of luck on the CAT TAILS that we also called pussywillows until we figured out the difference. when the brown tail so to speak explodes with all the white seeds it almost looks like it's snowing. i've never heard them called Bull rushes. I bet that anything you come up with to add to your water feature will be great so best of luck with that.

is this hopefully your last Imunotherapy round and other than the awful side effects are your results getting rid of the Pneumonia according to the doctors?

one of our members was talking how expensive a good drone is and he mentioned $600 to $2000 and if I recall correctly didn't your company's drone cost about $60,000? speaking of that any cool drone pics on your company's web site or that you can share here?

cheers and hope you feel great again soon!!

Steve, it's too bad you didn't have that mission a couple of years ago. My wife is a big fan of Bull Rushes and found metal ones with solar LED lights inside glass seed pods at Costco. I would send you ours but they have suffered a fair bit of damage (broken glass).

Apparently Amazon also sold them at one time but no longer. It's possible they carry something similar down under. Here's a link to the Amazon offering, which does contain more information:

...Every time I walk in it seems I cringe at the Ray Charles welding on a set of jack stands.

Well that explains the dark glasses. :lol_hitti

That auction looked interesting 1/2cup, I haven't been to an auction in years (I would want to buy stuff that I can't afford and/or don't need :().

My brother-in-law builds some very good garden art, this one is at my father-in-law's place...

He generally uses any old bits and pieces that resemble the shape he needs (look closely at the bird's head).

Have fun with your Bull Rush project.
