I've been talking to Bob's silent friend about you.

Andy many thanks:thumbup:

Keep hammering away at getting better.

xtremek trust me we are giving every thing we have got.

Being silent I guess he said nothing. :lol_hitti

HOTFR8;)

Yeah, he's one of those strong but silent types.

But it is good to know he listens.

The people I admire trust him.

Andy listen we do..:thumbup::thumbup:

All, just a bit of an update we had a bit of an issue with my new PICC Line inserted last Monday, long story short version which needed 2 days in hospital and 2 units of blood to get right, however all is good now:thumbup:
Thats is the second one I have had trouble with not to mention the Mid line canula a couple of week ago:headscrat
These line are all about being able to take bloods, infuse Chemo and Immunotherapy easily as my arm veins have had a fair bashing of late and giving the a bit of a break. Hopefully it will last another 4- 5 weeks:thumbup:

On the flathead V8 front Andrew dropped all my bits here while I was in hospital, all neatly packaged and sorted, now I can sit, look and drool over what I their ultimate destiny is for a bit. I am pretty limited with my right arm movement for a week or so.

Many thanks one and all, enjoy your day..

1/2: I had a feeling you were having a tough time, but hope you are on the upswing again. good to hear your spirits are still up and glad to hear Andrew sorted out the flatheads and parts for you so they'll be ready for you to do your magic on when you are up to it.

my bride wanted me to buy this sign to put out if she leaves this world before I do cause i'm always mentioning how much I like her method of gardening. hope it puts a smile on your face cause it sure made me smile when she TOLD ME TO LOOK AT IT.

cheers buddy!!!

At one point today I realised I had a big smile, enjoying that QST and thought about you and how you are doing.

See, I have a colleague that suffers a real bad case of lymphoma and he knows it will come back some day and take him. But every day is "no ground lost". He doesn't appear to have the same support you have and can see the strain when things get too much. Gave up his own hobbies to focus on those of his family and never been happier. He often comes around to chat about what I'm up to so he can tell me what he got up to with his son.

So reading a lot between the lines and understand exactly why you have been so quiet(the strong silent type) this week. Sounds like this week the fight was more of a glorious battle. The little things being as important as all the big ones. But the fact that you make time for us is overwhelming.

You have all my respect and admiration so sending you my positive thoughts and hopes.

Just don't tease us too much by what you have planned for those engines! :lol_hitti

Hi All, dad is in for a tune up, he shall provide details in due course.
Basically bloods were out of whack so a day or 2 locked up for his normal service.
Side effects of resent treatment including headaches have been a pain so he has just been resting up.
my son and I visited dad yesterday which consisted of my son chasing dad around the shed and making Pa sit on his chair and Aiden sit in his chair, Just a regular part of my son dragging dad around his own shed.

All is well I'm sure there will be some more details when dads service is complete.

I/we appreciate the thoughts and prayers :beer:

Andrew: thanks for the update on DAD and sounds like he's doing pretty well considering all the stuff he's been going through. I bet having you and your son out in his SHED with him made him and maybe you smile. how does it look inside the SHED with all those shiny (or dirty soon to be shiny) engines?

1/2: speaking of dirty i'm digging out stuff in the back of my old shop and look what I had to move. I'm not sure I'll likely have a huge need for any of them, but once I wire wheel off the crud and put on some BLO i'm hoping to find a spot to hang them where I can at least look over at them and smile.

more prayers sent and hope you feel 100% again real soon!!

All, back tracking to last Monday the 4th I had an appointment with my Oncologists to discuss last weeks CT Scan results which turned out really positive, the remaining cancer growths either shrinking or remaining the same.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

A few days prior i had not been feeling too well in any case. Long story but here is the short form version.
Preliminary observations with the Oncologist showed my O2 sats were way down and the blood test I had prior to the early appointment came back with both the white and red blood cells way out of whack.
Admitted straight away, placed on Oxygen and a blood transfusion as soon as a cross match could be found.
I was then scheduled for a Bronchoscopy on the Wednesday following from the scan results to check some minor inflammation which turned out to be Bronchitis. Bucket loads of Anti biotics and Steroids later I am out of hospital getting back on track..
Needless to say there has been not a lot of QST over the last week or so.
Thank you one and all for dropping by, your kind thoughts and words.
Much appreciated.

1/2: we're still sending prayers and always a little luck too hoping that you get your health back 100% so you can get on with your fun life again.

any pics of all that rusty and dirty engine blocks and stuff you can post when you feel up to it i'm sure all of us would enjoy sharing your joy looking at them knowing that you will shine them up as you get your health in good shape.

I have all the parts for a couple electrolysis tanks, but no place to put one or two permanent. that said I'm pretty handy with a wire wheel and going to put a wire wheel on my 3/4 HP baldor buffer soon.

cheers

Thanks for the update. Wish it didn’t have that bump in the road. Glad you’re back home and at least thinking about some QST. A good sign.

Bob

Bob thank you what more can I say.

Sorry to hear that, but sounds like they were on to it straight away. All the best for the recovery from the bronchitis and your ongoing treatment.

Hewey I have a great medical team that do not let the grass grow under their feet when it comes to my treatment.

All I have been just laying low over the past few weeks to let my treatment take its course any side effects of the recent Chemotherapy are slowly diminishing thank fully.
For the bronchitis / pneumonitis I have been put on a heavy dose antibiotics and steroids.
These also have their side effects as well but I am coping very well with weekly check ups and dressing changes on my PICC line.
I still have to be very aware of infection.
More Scans in two weeks to determine my treatment for here on in, which I suspect will be more Immunotherapy.
So it is steady as she goes at the moment.

I am able to potter in the shed so long as I don't over do things plus still doing a little bit of work from home which is great.

Thank you one and all oh so much, it means a lot to me.......

Steve, your restraint is admirable. I manage to set my recovery back every time someone tells me to take it easy. Probably a carry-over from someone telling me not to put beans up my nose. Now where did I put those long forceps....

You and another friend in Australia are in the same boat, using the healthcare system to great effect. I think of you daily and my invisible friend is keeping an eye on you. Be well my friend.

This is true.

I am certainly guilty of more than once not listening to good advice.

I continue to watch from the side lines Steve and as always, only wish you well, and an uncomplicated recovery.

Catching up a little, only to see the fight has been a little harder recently, but know the strength that surrounds you comes from the heart. I hope you can draw some comfort from that to ease your mind and let your body grow stronger! All the best to you!

Rian I have really learnt big time that you must listen and heed that good advice. I have been guilty of that more than once and paid the price.

1/2: I parked next to this little guy yesterday and had to pass on a test ride cause i was with my bride (or maybe cause we don't have roads to really give it a fair test) and thought it might give your thread a bit of color.

I hope you are doing as well as possible and i'm still sending prayers down under to the great guy who's pottering in his shed and hoping to get his health back to shine up a few more engines.

hope your weekend is relaxing and maybe a little more pottering in the shed if you feel up to it.

cheers
