How many do you have ?
Looks like I have to ask my question again. How many Gen Sets do you have yourself ?
I take it the plan is to set up your shed with its own back up power supply.

I was involved in a generator install at an FDA facility upgrade it was a huge Wartsila. It used the same engine a large cruise ship has... Generator work is very interesting.

Apologies HOTFR8 - 1/2 Cup - 1/2 Asleep - and only reading 1/2 the question.
To answer your question in the correct context I haven't got a gen set as yet.
The 15 kva three phase Kabota unit I was chasing at our workplace surplus auction through Greys went for nearly new price 12 months ago and I have not pursued looking for one since.
I am looking at feeding into the house main switchboard to cover every thing in a power outage.
Regards
I suppose if you have the fitting set up ready to just plug in you only need then to find the (suitable) Gen Set. So that is 1/2 done I guess

I have only run mine a couple of times with power outages here just to back up the solar.

as knowing you it will all happen in good time.Apologies HOTFR8 - 1/2 Cup - 1/2 Asleep - and only reading 1/2 the question.

"I will post some pics of a temporary installation we did a few years back that used three 1250 kva units connected in parallel with auto sync capability for pumping."
Wow that must be a huge pump(s) needing that amount of juice. Love to see a photo.
Cheers Grumblebum
Did not know you flew. How often do you go flying? What about the location? What Reservoir is that?
WOW. The best I can say to that was I know what that is like having been a Fire Fighting Air Observer. A skill no doubt you have and do enjoy.
To answer your question the pump station was at Waranga Basin.

ironically I do love a good WWII warbird, even had some nose art from a Boston bomber on our old EK ute.
He's got some other neat toys as well.
Awesome 1/2 cup, that also explains the aircraft mag subscription a long way back in your thread.
Cheers Grumblebum.

I can not find an emoticon for a dark horse.
That set up I recall is one of the biggest pump systems under your juristriction. But then you will confirm that.
I love finding stuff like this out about forum members. Personally I'm happy keeping my feet on the groundironically I do love a good WWII warbird, even had some nose art from a Boston bomber on our old EK ute.
This is a crazy mate off another forum with his Hydroplane. Balls of steel and a healthy dose of crazinessHe's got some other neat toys as well.
1/2: your skills just keep amazing me. Do you ever sleep? Also you never seem to be stressed. Id ask for your secret, but i think its just in your DNA.
Nice pics. also liked your 1/2 cup est. 1956 sign you might put on your storage next to carport. Funny your company was established the same year i arrived on the planet.
Have a great day

HOTFR8 I do enjoy flying for sure
You time as an air observer would have been interesting.![]()
A little like Orienteering but in the air. Hated it on stinking hot days.
What a great shed you have. Some of the projects you have is great.
Decent size on that pump station also. This is one pump I was responsible for assemble and test last winter. It is a long shafted pump with a 3.2 MW electrical motor. All made in superduplex with inconel bolts. Pumping 8400 m3 of seawater every hour.

Pedestall. This is where the motor will be mounted when the pump are put in place

Sorry to hijack your thread 1/2 Cup, Vegar that is impressive, but I can not grasp the transport function of that tractor trailer. Where does it pivot around corners?

In GB it's called a trombone trailer because it can be extended or contracted to suit the length of the load. It pivots just the same as a fixed length trailer. Ignore the gap just behind the tractor wheels - that's where it is extended. Look at the piece above the tractor wheels - that's where it pivots.
1/2: anytime you want to post more ariel pictures of your part of the world on your thread please do. it's a lot greener than what the US news or movies show us.
of course I remember that huge blue stone and hope you don't have to move it again to put on that cool new brass badge. or do you?
Hope you are having a great day.

Missed these updates.
My daily fixes on some threads.
Looks like some one has a day off today before Melbourne Cup Holiday.
Hope to see a few updates today with some luck.
With the show trolley finished for Mrs 1/2 Cups friend, an extra few days off work and a bit of a lull in the traffic so to speak, I am getting stuck back into the Underbench drawers to knock yet another project over before I get started on the MG F engine build in earnest.
Just to recap UGLY AREA No.1 of many.
