beer o'clock indeed!
1/2: you are a saint and a very busy guy to say the least. congrats on just surviving the weekend so you could make it to the safe haven of work on Monday.
take care and hope your SIL gets settled in somewhere and is moving forward with her life.
My Dad calls to remind me that I had promised to fit a power point for his board band connection but clean forgotten all about it as Mrs 1/2 Cup had arranged for us to do the last of the recovery for my sister in law.

I am guessing that should be broad band ?
What a weekend.![]()
Sounds like your running shoes are almost worn out.![]()

the Australian Open was a good one to watch so in case you taped it and was going to watch it after work tonight i'll keep the results to myself.

Agreed. Well said.
1/2 Cup, If I could I would by you a round or two. Well done.
Just went over the last three pages I have missed due to family needs here at home, plus all the Thanksgiving holiday weekend shopping, cooking, eating( work gave us 2 days off paid to make it a 4 day weekend!). Looks like you have not had a spare moment! I have been through a home fire as a young teen when my sister broke a bottle of cleaning fluid on the floor while ironing. Gas water heater happened to be in the same area, so you can imagine what happened when the fumes hit the pilot light. This was way before code required gas water heaters to be a minimum of 18" off the floor{Hmm, wonder why?}. I put the fire out myself before the fire crew arrived, but my older sister got our 3 younger sibs out first. Probably the dumbest thing I have ever done, but it confined the fire damage to the laundry area, but the whole home had smoke damage. We were lucky enough to get back in after two days of cleaning and painting. I can still smell the smoke which was down to waist level by the time I got the fire out.
Will the SIL house be rebuilt by insurance or....? Nice job on the head; obviously there is enough material in the valve seats to cut for the larger valves, I take?

X2!!!
PS I didn't see the Spring Nats. street parade to get pics..
My eldest and daughter in law attended the 70th anniversary celebrations of the MG TCs
this is her in her uncles car "Henry" at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Briars-Historical-Nature-Park-Mt-Martha/151984144920543
They drove it to the rally with lets say less than perfect brakes and returned home safely.

I prefer to keep quiet unless I have something to say.....
Henry looks like an awesome piece of engineering. I would love to spend an hour, just walking, standing, touching, feeling and even smelling him.
Those cars really capture the essence of a bygone era.
So sorry to hear about the fire, and I will take your advice and try to keep things un-plugged when possible. SUPER happy to hear they are all healthy and good.
1/2: so while you were wiring up his kitchen he was driving that cool old car? doesn't seem fair and hope they brought it by your home to let you drive it around the block. especially since he wants you to work on his engine 24/7.
have a great week
Beautiful MG TC! Interesting exhaust pipe design. I'm assuming some of that configuration is caused by emissions standards? Especially the really long tail pipe after the muffler. Is that typical to sweep up and over the rear fender? It would be nice to have that shortened to dump out just in front of the rear wheel but I'm guessing that would not meet some regulation. Or is this design based on original?
x3 of what drives said!!!

Not at all HOTFR8.
The good news is my sister in laws car is back on the road.![]()

to that ^^^^

The lack of photos of the Spring Nats is enough confirmations.
I doubt I will even make it to that event but the Mack Truck Muster is up your way next year so I think I may put that on the bucket list.
Edited Note: I do know I am not going to be passing through Shepparton for the Yarrawonga event (2016) as I have an event here in Castlemaine that same weekend.
1/2
.to that ^^^^
Also, I heeded your advice after your sister's sad loss (hope everything is going OK there too), and went home and unplugged the permanently plugged in laptop.
Thanks for the heads up, don't work too hard.

A ****** hot Tuesday afternoon in SW Sydney![]()
1/2 Cup
Great looking car. that would be great to see one on the road in action.
It is a beautiful car. My dream is to someday touch to this work of automotive art.
Very cool car. Going over a beautiful car like this in detail gives me a ton of inspiration that is often taken to the camera gear business. The fact that these open cockpit cars were raced sure gives one an appreciation for modern safety advances in the racing world.
I expect you would only try to get into "Henry" wearing shorts once![]()
That's a pity HOTFR8 I may be down your way in a week or so with work. I will keep you posted.
Another farm find, some of you guys may have seen my other thread in relation to this one but I thought I would post it here as well just for interest sake.
Mrs 1/2 Cups sisters' long time partner passed away a few weeks ago and I have been assisting in trying to help with the farm clean out. Amongst the life time collection of accumulated stuff is this gem.

1/2 cup, I read through most of this post today as I had time and damn I am tired just reading all you have done and gone through! And those stainless steel capped drawers that you made are extremely impressive!!!!
Thanks for sharing with us all.
Very talented this one is!

I worked for an industrial designer by the name of Brooks Stevens for many years and this unit reminds me greatly of a Cleaver-Brooks design that he did for a mobile tank heater back in 1941, very cool!
1/2 Cup
Being away from the switch for a bit, I see so much on your operation that I have missed. Amazed as always.
Best Regards

Stuff like that compressor makes my ears ***** right up.
If it works, I hear "mobile sandblasting" and other phrases I my head.
Love the shape of he metal work on it too, like tank heater.
I agree with Herb
It's been a while since I checked in and a lot has happened while I've been away.
Nice stuff here 1/2 cup
Don
Herb, Don,
1/2 is one of those guys that does things to perfection. You know if the job is worth doing get stuck into it and do it the right way the first time type of guy. Having visited his great little work shop and seen just how neat and tidy it is I can say it puts my place to shame.

I do get a great sense of achievement in hitting the mark so to speak.

1/2: you might not get everything right the first time and i'm not sure i agree, but you do eventually because everything i see you do is first cabin top notch stuff. I can only wish to have some of the things i do look as nice as you make yours. your welding table is a piece of art, your carport is the best on GJ and maybe of any I've ever seen and i was a Realtor for 30 years and all your heating, cooling and solar stuff just touches the talent you have.
ok I want to know why the guys are shooting such high scores at this week's golf tournament. did somebody down there get a little warm and turn on the fans or the blowers?
have a great weekend and hope you get a little rest after what you've done the last few weeks.
HOTFR8, 1/2 Cup, Don
Just wanted to say how I appreciate all you guys and the great shops and skill you all have. Being the Holiday Season, I want to thank you all for your friendships and wishes for your holiday seasons. Just a Herb Spencer "thanks guys"
Best Regards
Herb
