The
week end that was.
To be honest I could have done with another couple of days this weekend, two days is never enough.
Friday evening the lawns were given a quick hair cut both here and in the
West Wing.
Saturday was one of those days where you have stuff planned and it just didn't work out but what the heck, i just went with the flow anyway.
Mrs 1/2 Cup left at 5 am for a show at Carrum that is a three hour drive from here near Melbourne for the day.
Andrew called early on his way to
Sandown Motor Raceway for the weekend.
The
West Wing, I was able to finish two doors, one that was so grossly miss aligned it wouldn't latch and the other was binding on the door jambs so a quick prune with the
Makita planner sorted that out now
Mrs 1/2 Cup will be able to finish painting her last door.
I fitted an adjusted the last of the robe doors
Mrs 1/2 Cup had removed for cleaning.
A work colleague of mine and familly dropped by to see how we were getting on in the
West Wing which was great to share what we were up to as they are renovating their home at the same time. We spent a couple of hours comparing notes which was fantastic.
A quick trip to
Super Cheap Auto to pick up oil, filter and sump plug to do the service on the Mazda Six for
Leonie ( widow of
Ian, my boss that passed away earlier this year ) she arrived early afternoon and what would normally take and hour or so turned into three and a half hours as she was in for a chat and catch up.
Sunday, was mainly concentrated on the
West Wing.
A trip to the
big box store first up to pick up those essential bits and pieces. ( i can never go there without coming home with more stuff than i intended in the first place, so I have a new
Stanley Fat Max Wood chisel set now

. )
. The toilet suite finally done and dusted. Yet to be christened.
. Installed a mixer tap to the kitchen sink that
Mrs 1/2 Cup had brought during the week to replace the tap and outlet set up. That necessitated yet another trip to the
big box store as the flexible tails were not long enough to reach the wall outlets under the sink.
. I also managed a little more cleaning up in the garden as well.
Dad dropped by to see how things were going and was in for a chat as usual.
Then
Andrew turned up following his outing with the
MG F down at Sandown, the car ran very well with his times fairly consistent to his PB on that track of around 1 min 34 secs.
In discussion we have made the decision to do the last two meetings of the season with the existing engine which takes the pressure off getting the new engine done some what. Not forgetting that
Amy is due to give birth in the first week of November..
As usual, thank you one and all for the visit and have a great day..
