Well thanks half cup , you too. Yeh , I understand the low profile bit .
I am seriously liking this Whiskas bloke. , just FYI !
Coolabah I just do my own thing pretty much and stay under the radar with no fuss.
Whiskers is a bit of a legend around here being a local media personality.
I hope the show goes well for him..
Episode 3 is out now and I haven't watched it yet.

Glad to hear you've got a big jump on the TDL. And I must tell you that Moose are very passive (and blind) the don't seem to cause many problems unless you hit one with your vehicle. Bears on the other hand (depending what kind you're dealing with) can be a problem. Here on the east coast we have black bears that generally stay away from people and are relatively harmless. On the west coast they have Grizzly bears that can do quite a number on you if you can to close to them. In general though the Moose and Bears don't cause too many problems. I personally would rather run into a Moose than a skunk.
I hope your weekend goes well for you.
And that's a pretty good story Slim has there.
Dan, Thank you for your insight into the wild life you guys have, unreal.
Our Kangaroos do not have any road sense and will jump in the path of on coming traffic and I is not the first one you hit but is mate that is following behind. Hit them at speed and they make a fair mess of things.
I am off to a good start so far, lots to do and things to keep me busy.
I have duly noted
Slims story..
Winter will be here (US) sooner than we want. Looks like the 1/2CWWB&B will be ready for its first GJ visitors.
So with the carport storage being put back in rotation does this mean the WW shed stays dedicated to Model A rebuilding?
shorty, we are nearly open for business and summer is just around the corner.
The
West Wing shed becomes
Storage Annex A for the time being, I now have room in the
Shed Downunder to actually start working on the
Model A time is a killer at the moment.
I'll derail this for a story that seems appropriate with the current talk of bears. I was on a hiking trip in Canada when our guide got on the subject of bears. He said you need to carry pepper spray and wear bells on your shoes to keep the bears away. Later he went into how to identify what type of bear was around if you ran across the skat (droppings) of one. He said that black bears usually have berries, seeds, and the like and it was easy to tell. I asked about grizzly skat and how to identify theirs. He told me that was even easier as theirs was full of little bells and smelled like pepper.

JB
JB I love that one...

Don't see too many moose or bear where I'm at. The badgers are scary tho...
Just internet pics above, I'd never get close enough to one to take a pic.
They are the size of a small dog but they are all muscle and downright nasty and destructive. They can dig up a cubic meter of dirt out of a hole in about 20 minutes and it can take a couple of 12 gauge rounds to stop them. They don't even flinch at a .22. Fortunately I've never had an encounter with one but there was one digging holes just outside my yard last week that I might have to take care of if he doesn't leave on his own. They dig out gophers and kill them, which is good, but the cure is worse than the ailment because of the mess they leave behind.
As for the cold, I don't blame you. I should've moved a long time ago...
Cheers!
slim, that is unreal.
Nasty looking critters aren't they??
We do get pretty cold here during the winter and the snow is where it is meant to be..........way up in the hills and mountains, just the way I like it..
SP: is one of those a HONEY BADGER!! i hear those buggers are worse than a grizzly bear (damn funny and probably true joke by
JB
). does one of those look like the one in your backyard digging up the gofers?
OMG you best be moving soon and i can learn to speak UFFDA to get a chance to drive through that gate and call it home.
1/2: there comes up that B&B for GJ again.
great to hear you are mowing grass and as your weather is improving ours is heading to wet and cold again so i'll have to read about the sun soon by checking in on you and the SHEDS.
nice that
Mrs. 1/2 found a present for you to install now that you know you will be using that door a lot more often visiting your new grandson. also hope you find some torque or square drive screws.
great start on the TO DO list and just curious do you use gloves most of the time when moving stuff or working in the yard. i try to and again forgot to yesterday and almost cut off the end of my thumb. check out the
SAFETY 101 thread i started and feel free to add any tips or comments you wish to share there and here's the link that i might have already posted on here.

The
West Wing is getting close to finished, well that said we still have a bit of landscaping to do.
It has a nice warm feel about it now, more a home and not just another house.
As for
Andrews back door, I am trying to duck and weave my way out of that one till next weekend if I can. Trust me I won't be too fussed about clocking the screws on this one.
No pics either.
Getting close to the new family additions arrivals and can't wait.
Our work place actually encourages us to use all the protective and safety gear that they provide around the home.
We also have access to safety harnesses for working at heights which come in real handy.
I have my own
PPE in any case and do use it all the time.
I hate pain and the sight of blood, especially if it is mine..
Thank you one and all for your visits and great pearls of wisdom as usual.
Have a great weekend...
