All, I received all the CNC stuff from Andrew to allow me to modify the air intake for the Jenvey fuel injection system on the Rover K series plus a nicely powder coated air in take..

View media item 67621
The spacers allow just enough clearance for the intake to clear the cooling manifold...

I have also found the time to piece together a few bits for the MK11 traffic light controller..

Lots to do and I would not have it any other way, enjoy..:thumbup:

We have a crazy bunch here. I leave you guys alone for a day and half of you are peeing on electric fences as therapy for clocking screws.:headshake

The dolly wheels came out great 1/2 cup.

I'm interested in seeing how the air intake modification will look when installed.

I hope you have a great weekend or at least a great 1/2 weekend.

Dan, we sure do and loving it. Its called diversity..;)

I will try and get the air intake set up today, just another job to be ticked of the list.

1/2 + 1/2 = a great week end..:3gears:

You must have a production line for the control boxes. It should look good when done. I expect not much different to the one you built for me.

It is a worry.

HOTFR8, I should set up a production line to be honest as its far better to do multiples than one offs.

The Traffic Light Controller will be basically a cut and paste of yours with the only change being that the lights will be permanently connected and not portable like yours..

that is what happens when a thread is left unsupervised and it runs 1/2 off the rails I suppose:willy_nil

Sub, this thread does get out of control at times but I would not have it any other way..

Thank you one and all, I trust you have a great week end..

So if permanent do you have plans on the location all will be mounted ?

HOTFR8, most likely I will mount the traffic lights on the far end of the carport closest to the shed and facing to the street, that way I can activate it with a motion sensor. That's my initial thoughts any way.

Cartalk was great this morning, you came over well.

Motion sensor sounds like a great set up. Have you ever seen the ones set up on private property out near Chewton just out the road from me?

I am now the roving reporter for Cartalk.

HOTFR8, its an easy add on to the control circuit.

I have seen the set up at Chewton:thumbup:

Congratulations on the roving reporter gig, you will do well..

You would have seen the railway crossing lights as well mounted on the old bridge. You would have noticed then the traffic lights do not flash in the correct sequence as they can be seen from the road.

Congratulations on the roving reporter gig, you will do well..

Next time I am in I am going to ask for a pay rise :lol_hitti 100% on top of nothing.........:lol:

If you look at the key tag in the earlier photos he built one for me (Key tag is the clue here HOTFR8) and I have been very happy with his work.

View media item 34749I had already built a Xmas tree but had no controller.

View media item 34745You can see the control box in the bottom left corner of the bottom photo.

I would have posted many photos over in the Sheddwellers topic.

While at my uncle's farm, jump off tractor, fell when I hit the rough dirt right into a barbed wire fence with a hot wire. Lesson learned.

I have a traffic light that I'd like to make functional. Having it set on a motion detector is a great idea. Do you have a schematic you could share. Or better yet if you build me a controller I'll trade for some of those bagel slings that you like to wear. :scared:

1/2: it looks like you have more ENGINE BLING for Andrew's engine.

i love how handy you are and how you can just switch from one project to the next at any point if needed or if MRS. 1/2 (your MANAGEMENT) tells you to.

that traffic signal would be a great thing to mount on the West Wing's shed or maybe make a pole for it. i bet it might have the Rodents even running red lights cause aren't dogs colorblind?

enjoy your Sunday while i enjoy my 61st BDay cause now i'm older than you again, but probably not wiser.

cheers

All , in between visitors here today I managed to finish the dolly wheels.

View media item 67619
They are a bit lower profile than my others, now to fit the solar panel and battery platform.

Thank you for you visit and have a good one..

Well done as all your work. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished assembly. I've been intrigued by your solar setup and always thought it would be nice to have an E-tank system on wheels like you are doing. The final result should be interesting.

Ken, see below from HOTFR8

The controller will do either a set of Christmas tree or Traffic lights, no problem. More stages can be added if needed and the timers are all adjustable..

Pics to follow this morning of the air intake on the Rover K Series..

drives, pics to follow on the bling later, I am still 1/2 asleep this morning.

Its called diversity but one thing I don't do well is multi task at anyone time. I focus one thing at a time ( or try to at least. )

The light are destined for the far end of the carport ( subject to change with out notice - terms and conditions may apply )

A change of colour would not stop the rodents or Shelby let me tell you.

Happy birthday congratulations are most certainly in order. Enjoy your day..:thumbup:

rmalkow, the dolly is to sit the solar panel and battery/s on. Nothing will be permanently mounted so I can easily store it when it is not in use.

The E tank sits on another set of dolly wheels and again when I am finished with it can be stored easily.

I do like to keep both separate and out doors when I am using it as an E Bath just in case..

So 1/2, are you going to change the bath setup or just a cleaner version?
LOL LOL

Hey Terrick there is nothing clean about the set up let me tell you...

We call it puttering around.

We call it Putzing around! :lol_hitti

Steve good work on the engine, and keeping the peace with all the Honey Dos.

When you talk about the rodents, its funny how the little criitters wend their way into our lives and hearts and they become part of the family so quickly.

Never thought of putting critter pics on GJ but I have a few that I'll post back on my thread now that you've inspired me.

And I'm jealous of your 4 day weekend.

Cheers!

Nee. I make hand formed bowls with no wheel. But I do have the obligatory kiln. Or two...

My test firing to see whether the clay out of my creek was suitable was done in the blacksmith forge. That was a six inch sample to check for shrinkage upon firing. Supposed to be less than 10% shrinkage.:rocker:

Slim, Putter, Putzing or Potter all means one thing to me and that is relaxing QST...

I have not done too much in the shed today, its pretty warm here and I have been assembling Mrs 1/2 Cups new exercise bike ( I laugh when they say some assembly will be required )

Our little critters are just a part of the family and in the shed and we should share that. ( I did have a quick gander at your post:thumbup: )

The four day weekend is rapidly coming to an end sadly and back to reality tomorrow, any way it has been fantastic to step off the merry go round for a few days...

Engine is looking great!

Coop, thank you.
Progress is a little slow on the build I am just waiting on Andrew to finish the sub frame and drive train.

Rover K engine looks great. D
o you have a horsepower expectation for it? Is it a legal engine for the vehicle or a swap( sorry, I'm not familiar with the genre).

Ric, thank you..

I am hoping it goes as good as it looks. As for what it will put out I would be only speculating at best now but I would disappointed if we don't double the 99 kw rear wheel out put the old engine did prior to its last run.

You could put it in a road car no problems..

HOTFR8, will do...

There is a bit of detail on the controller build for sure...

Knowing Andy and the small portion of his place he has shared thus far I recon he would have a wheel and kiln under all that nice old iron;)

Could make a commode out of that green clay! Firing might get a little nasty. Maybe stack the base in rings and have a seat made of woven grass. Handle would be horn of course. Never need to scrub a ring. :lol_hitti

Well ****!, Bobby.

Steve:

If I use a drill press for a wheel I'd only have 74 drill presses left:(

The reason I don't have a wheel is I ran out of room in the broom shop. Pottery is moving to the foundry room which has lots of room:eyecrazy:

Thanks for the ladder diagram on the timer.

Thanks guys, I have been a bit preoccupied with everything going on around me at the moment. Mainly work stuff as follows:

( the explanation below )

. Drone flying - I have now clocked up enough hours to apply for my licence from the Civil Aviation Authority and the application was sent Monday. Which was promptly sent back that I had used the wrong form ( Form 1087 ( superseded )and not Form 101-01 ).

So I corrected my erroneous ways and promptly sent in Form 101-01 plus the $185.00 fee.

Check the link out below and you will understand..:headscrat
https://www.casa.gov.au/publication...orms-and-templates?WCMS:STANDARD::pc=PC_91308

I have clocked up nearly three hours over the last week due to favorable weather condition which has been fantastic and builds my confidence with every flight.:3gears:

Some more mapping flights tomorrow weather permitting..

. We have had external auditors in who go over every financial statement know to man so guess who is due for a bend over and receive a pineapple from management.
Any way one does what has to be done to get the job done on time and under budget even though I may have skipped one or two of the usual protocols to do so.:dunno: my excuse is I haven't been trained in financial management, after all I am just sparky :thumbup:

. Site commissioning of a water regulator structure and automated fish way some two hours away from here.

. Paper work, more paper work and some.

. Pump station Design reviews.

. Site Acceptance and commissioning reviews.

. Procedural reviews.

. Did I mention paper work.:willy_nil

. No plasma cutting fun either, the projects on the back burner are mounting up.

. The work calendar is booked for the next two weeks as we speak, no rest for the wicked as they say..:willy_nil

The Shed Downunder front:

Not a lot really, this week seems to have been one of those weeks when every one has said "lets visit the 1/2 Cups" not that I mind a bit. It has been great to catch up..

. No I have not clocked a screw in at least 5 days, 8 hours and 32 minutes.

. Still not a lot done on the MG F engine, pretty much waiting on the subframe from Andrew.

. I just had a phone call as I type this to inform me that a new stainless steel exhaust system is on its way for the K Series ( watch this space )

. No edges or lawns until the week end, I do have to admit that my standards have slipped just a tad.:(

That's about it ( I think ):dunno:

Have a great day and thank you for the visit..:thumbup:

Edit and update

. At long last the stainless drawer fronts for my go to work bench are on their way:thumbup::thumbup:

Well I went to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) website as you instructed and found their site to be very well designed and easy to utilize. I went directly to Form 1213 AOC Application Form which referred me to form 1049 which referred me to Form 686 which referred me to Form 186 which referred me to 014 which referred me to 101A which referred me to 1414 which referred me to 1213 which referred me to 1049 which referred me to 686 to 186 to 014 to 101A to 1414 to 1213 to 1049 to 686 to 186 to 014 to 101A to 1414 to 1213 and then I knew I was on the right track. Then I remembered I don't live in Australia so I went back to look for foreign firm forms but I wasn't firm on being foreign and I remembered just in time I don't plan to fly anything other than my 454 Chevelle and it stays under the radar, so to speak.:willy_nil:willy_nil:willy_nil
