Steve, I'm very happy to hear that you're health is improving. Let's keep it going in that direction.
Nice shine you put on that grinder and that's a great little vise you found.
Dan, thank you.
I am pleased with how the grinder came up and the small vise is a gem, I was looking at it earlier and the jaws line up perfectly with no marks on them only just like they came out of the factory.
1/2 Cup,
Great news on your medical update!
Jon, thank you.
The test results were fantastic let me tell you, no more for another 6 weeks
1/2, Great news on the medical front!!! I saw your grinder over on the "BEFORE & AFTER....A Tool Polisher's Haven" thread...looks awesome!!! I love that thread...You guys have some awesome projects going on over there, It is quickly becoming one of my favorite threads that I check daily
Here is the link...

BF thank you..
That thread is getting me sucked in let me tell you. Every time I am in the shed now I am looking for some thing else to polish
I have another two bench grinders with alloy end shields that are just begging to have the same treatment..
It also gave me the opportunity to give it a good clean, new bearings and all new hardware will I was at it....
At your age you should be allowed a little vice or two.
Andy, I know but at last count I had
9 vices..
PS make that
11 as I missed the two leg vises.
Now you know why I keep getting side tracked on projects.
1/2: nice work on the grinder as i'd already mentioned on the other thread (and maybe here too)! I bet it works better now than when it left the factory and I bet it looks a lot better too.
WELL DONE!
great to hear your health is still improving and maybe you'll be flying a real plane again soon to spend a day in the air with your dad cause I bet he is missing not flying too.
i'm still sending prayers that your health and all that goes with that keeps improving.
here's a couple vises that you'd probably like to own if they happen to cross your path. the Dawn offset vice is on my short list if I ever see one up here that isn't above my pay grade. and not sure you might see a GRAND smallish clamp on vise that has a quick release, but it's a keeper and i was lucky enough to find one a while back. and for woodworking a VERSA VISE is a cool vise and here's a video link. I almost bet you could make one as handy as you are.
nice find on the little clamp on vise!!
cheers
Drives, thank again on the grinder make over.
There is at least another two that could do with the same treatment..
All is going well health wise at the moment your thoughts and prayers must be having an impact.
I am still not out of the woods by a long shot but I am heading in the right direction. I would dearly love to be at the controls again.
A
Dawn offset vise is on my list as well how ever take note that
Dawn and cheap are rarely found in the same sentence. The can be ridiculously priced.
Now you have me longing for a
Versa Vise
That is sweet..
The little vise was a great pick up and in great condition as well
Steve keep up the good work. You're in trouble now! Do you know how many vises there are out there? Of course you do! You were young once! Some of course can really put the squeeze on you as I'm sure you know. Thank heaven for small favors. Enjoy!
Bobby, thank you.
The bug has well and truly bitten
Enjoy the journey... I will..
I had no idea a simple bench grinder could be made to look so good. Does the colour match the cold saw too?
I have what seems to be it's unloved little (6") sister which runs a PA Products Multitool linisher kit surprisingly competently.
Ralf99, they come up well as yours would given the treatment.
Send it over..
The colour is the same as the cold saw which is period correct for both..
Your 6 " would run the linisher well.
I have my linisher on an 8 " which is the blue one on the right below.

Yikes! that grinder is now a work of art. I'm not sure you are allowed to use it now. Possibly it needs to be in a museum. But really that's top work for sure and I agree it would be hard to resist polishing the end caps.
Bob
Bob, thank you.
I will find a climate controlled glass case for it some where in amongst all my bits an pieces.
Again, thank you one and all. Have a top day..
