Drives, I had my Oncology Specialist appointment this morning.

My bloods were all normal.

The Scans showed the tumors are still shrinking and there was no new ones raising there ugly heads..:rocker:

So the out come was yet more scans and bloods in six weeks as I have been on the continual improve since Christmas the Oncologist is holding off on any Immunotherapy at this point in time, which I am pleased about as it can have similar after effects as to the Chemo.

With my return to work I have been nearly working four full days per week for the last few weeks actually but I am setting my own pace and only doing what I can reasonably do in a standard working day.

To that end I even preempted the Oncologist with exactly what I wanted written on my new medical certificate for our HR dept. that now gives me all the flexibility that I need to manage what ever time I spend at work. They did start to grumble that I was spending too much time at work, well exceeding the 2 or 3 1/2 days allowed on my last certificate..

Thank you for your visit and have a great day..

1/2: great news from the Dr. and even though you are still being monitored i'm happy to see you are not having to take a bunch of drugs.

i'm not sure where you get the time or energy and if you can bottle it up i'll pay the shipping to Seattle cause i just saw a pretty sweet looking grinder you posted over on this thread.

https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=377463

I can hardly wait to see how you finish up your cool industrial wet saw and it's new stand too when you find the time.

here's to another great day!!

Best news today! Congrats with the progress on your shrinkage and not needing more pharmaceutical support.

You could have milked the HR situation a bit longer just in case you have an off day or two but I'm sure you just mean to "let you be the judge of that"!

Steve, it's great to hear you are continuing to recover. I have a similar grinder but my Before looks like your After. I do more destroying than restoring. Just need to reach a balance.

X2 on the congratulations!!

Wow! You found a new grinder just like the junk one you threw away. Great find!!

Andy, thank you x 2

Its amazing what I find lurking in my shelves..

You will need some Brilliant Polish now to keep that grinder looking nice.

HOTFR8, that finish is just straight off the buff an I should finish it with Brilliant Polish

great news 1/2 cup and as always take care

Steve, thank you

Never fear I am taking care as much as humanly possible

1/2: nice work on the grinder as i'd already mentioned on the other thread (and maybe here too)! I bet it works better now than when it left the factory and I bet it looks a lot better too. WELL DONE!

great to hear your health is still improving and maybe you'll be flying a real plane again soon to spend a day in the air with your dad cause I bet he is missing not flying too.

i'm still sending prayers that your health and all that goes with that keeps improving.

here's a couple vises that you'd probably like to own if they happen to cross your path. the Dawn offset vice is on my short list if I ever see one up here that isn't above my pay grade. and not sure you might see a GRAND smallish clamp on vise that has a quick release, but it's a keeper and i was lucky enough to find one a while back. and for woodworking a VERSA VISE is a cool vise and here's a video link. I almost bet you could make one as handy as you are.

nice find on the little clamp on vise!!

cheers

Steve keep up the good work. You're in trouble now! Do you know how many vises there are out there? Of course you do! You were young once! Some of course can really put the squeeze on you as I'm sure you know. Thank heaven for small favors. Enjoy!

I had no idea a simple bench grinder could be made to look so good. Does the colour match the cold saw too?

I have what seems to be it's unloved little (6") sister which runs a PA Products Multitool linisher kit surprisingly competently.

All, last week end I got a little side tracked and picked out an old 6 " bench grinder that had been sitting in the shelves gathering dust for a number of years doing nothing.

I could not resist the temptation to polish the alloy..

Thank you one and all.

Yikes! that grinder is now a work of art. I'm not sure you are allowed to use it now. Possibly it needs to be in a museum. But really that's top work for sure and I agree it would be hard to resist polishing the end caps.

Dan, thank you.

I am pleased with how the grinder came up and the small vise is a gem, I was looking at it earlier and the jaws line up perfectly with no marks on them only just like they came out of the factory.

1/2 Cup,
Great news on your medical update!

Jon, thank you.

The test results were fantastic let me tell you, no more for another 6 weeks:thumbup:

1/2, Great news on the medical front!!! I saw your grinder over on the "BEFORE & AFTER....A Tool Polisher's Haven" thread...looks awesome!!! I love that thread...You guys have some awesome projects going on over there, It is quickly becoming one of my favorite threads that I check daily

Here is the link...
https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=377463

BF thank you..

That thread is getting me sucked in let me tell you. Every time I am in the shed now I am looking for some thing else to polish:scared:

I have another two bench grinders with alloy end shields that are just begging to have the same treatment..

It also gave me the opportunity to give it a good clean, new bearings and all new hardware will I was at it....

At your age you should be allowed a little vice or two.

Andy, I know but at last count I had 9 vices..:lol_hitti

PS make that 11 as I missed the two leg vises.:shocking:

Now you know why I keep getting side tracked on projects.

1/2: nice work on the grinder as i'd already mentioned on the other thread (and maybe here too)! I bet it works better now than when it left the factory and I bet it looks a lot better too. WELL DONE!

nice find on the little clamp on vise!!

cheers

Drives, thank again on the grinder make over.

There is at least another two that could do with the same treatment..

All is going well health wise at the moment your thoughts and prayers must be having an impact.

I am still not out of the woods by a long shot but I am heading in the right direction. I would dearly love to be at the controls again.

A Dawn offset vise is on my list as well how ever take note that Dawn and cheap are rarely found in the same sentence. The can be ridiculously priced.

Now you have me longing for a Versa Vise:drool:
That is sweet..

The little vise was a great pick up and in great condition as well:thumbup:

Steve keep up the good work. You're in trouble now! Do you know how many vises there are out there? Of course you do! You were young once! Some of course can really put the squeeze on you as I'm sure you know. Thank heaven for small favors. Enjoy!

Bobby, thank you.

The bug has well and truly bitten

Enjoy the journey... I will..

Ralf99, they come up well as yours would given the treatment.

Send it over..

The colour is the same as the cold saw which is period correct for both..

Your 6 " would run the linisher well.

I have my linisher on an 8 " which is the blue one on the right below.

I will find a climate controlled glass case for it some where in amongst all my bits an pieces.;)

Again, thank you one and all. Have a top day..

Steve

Now that's a rabbit hole I hadn't seen before......

Back in 3 weeks!

Lyndon
Sheesh!!!!

Steve looks like a sight I better stay off of. I can get into enough trouble on ebay.

Ouch, that site makes my wallet hurt!

Thanks Steve...

:willy_nil

Gentlemen, its nice to know that you can get the parts should you need them. One site to keep in the data base..

Lots of interesting tools but the prices, they be a bit on the high side.

Bob, prices out here are dearer across the board no matter what you buy in comparison to the States from my observations..:dunno:

Tools for argument sake are miles cheaper in you neck of the woods..

Have a good one..

Much smaller market here of course, with a total population less than the state of Texas, in a country the size of Brazil- so some things can be hard to get unless you're prepared to pay top dollar, and in undervalued A$ as well.

I regularly find good "parts" tools in local dirt markets at good prices, but that usually means that instead of cannibalising a parts tool to repair or restore one I already own, I end up with another tool to repair.

Talking of rabbit holes...
