With the cold spell forecast in the next few days for any QST you will need the heat on. Take care. That dreaded 'P' word I hate.

HOTFR8, I will try and slip in some QST and this will be the first time I will have had the split on heat. Its stating to get chilly already.

Unfortunately I have had two 'P' things now - Pneumonia and Pneumonitis and I was wondering wether you build an immunity to them, probably not:dunno:

Taking things easy now...:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

1/2: my uncle beat CANCER and passed away with one of those P words you mentioned. hopefully the diagnosis and treatment for it are better now than they were 25 years ago and good to know you and your Dr. are on top of it.

from my understanding you don't really get an immunity to those P words like you do a cold or the flu and unfortunately your body is more susceptible to catching it again so do your best to stay away from sick people and dress warm and keep your energy up. my mom is a retired RN (registered Nurse), but I rarely go to the Dr. so my information might not be 100% and just writing what I've heard or remember.

good luck and let us know how the new heater works!!

Drives, thank you for your good advice

You would not know I have it.

Your 100% right I am more prone to catching bugs at the moment.

Taking it easy..

I have even been running my little Air Con unit beside the fan heater the last few days. Amazing how using the two together keeps the place warm. Sounds like that QST should be AEJ (All Easy Jobs)..

HOTFR8, I am yet to run the new split in the shed as yet.

Mrs 1/2 Cup is keeping an eagle eye on any thing I do at the moment so it will be steady as she goes..

Got that right!

:eyecrazy: <--- me watching too

Crikey Steve! Sounds like you caught it early before it got the better of you. Hope you get better before it does.

While I do get a little seasick I'm actually OK in the air. Despite the pilot doing whatever the opposite of a positive G turn is, with me sitting in the open door next to him. Even while I was wearing a chute at the time and actually planning to jump out I would hope to be a little higher than the 300ft up at the time he was doing this. At least I fared better than the other occupants tumbling over each other in the back of the plane. :willy_nil

Same pilot was a little disappointing that he didn't rattle me earlier so proceeded to literally kick me out of his plane when it was my turn to jump. Later told my that doing a whoop rather than a frightened scream ruined that moment for him too. :lol_hitti

He finally got me later when while hanging off the wing strut(ready to 'jump')he proceeded to put the plane into a glide dive rather than just simply throttling back as he is supposed to. All while he was sitting there looking like normal business. Effect being that I got the feeling of falling(and falling forward rather than backward too) before letting go... sheesh that guy was nuts. Think that is why I always felts safe skydiving - compared to being in a plane with him.

She's not the only one watching...

Andy,

Got that right!

Bob,

Take care 1/2 cup.

Sounds like chicken soup time - tastebuds pending :Mr.T:

GB

GB,

Chicken soup is on the menu for todays lunch, Mrs 1/2 Cup made a big batch on Monday..

We are all watching be it from some distance. ;)

Crank up that split system and stay warm. 18 mm of rain here over night and no point in being out in the wet & cold.

HOTFR8, thank you.

I have just had my antibiotic IV down at the hospital this morning.

I woke this morning to the sound of water leaking outside, long story, the short version it was leaking out of the Anode at the top of the electric hot water service, the plumber has been and gone and we are back in business.

It is warming up here this morning with no cloud at all. We did have 2 mm of rain over night.

I will be staying inside with the heater cranked up today..

Have a great day..

To this point I have had no ill effects touch wood.

You are one brave man to jump out of an aircraft:bowdown:

That would be an unreal feeling hanging on to a wing strut in a glide dive and you can have that all to your self..

We went on the Spirit Of Tasmania a few years back for a trip to Tassie and I must admit to feeling crook but did not loose it at all.

I had pneumonia when I was a kid. I couldn't say the word right, it came out "ammonia". I couldn't get it in my head properly. Anyway, I hope you're firing on all eight soon.

1/2: as I get older my fear of heights and my motion sickness THING seems to be worse. i almost lost it on a Harry Potter ride at Universal last year.

I just flew in a jet 3.5 hours last month from Kansas City, Mo to Seattle (first class is the only way to fly BTW cause good beer, food and a movie) and wished the flight was longer after driving for 6 days to drop my daughter's car off. the plane ride had some turbulance and a few bumps, but almost like sitting in my recliner in my living room.

the last time i was in a single engine cessna the pilot was a friend of mine and he did a few cute things like you have been talking about and I wished I hadn't had breakfast cause it didn't come out, but was stuck about ready too the last half of the flight.

I hope your treatments for the Pneumonia work and you nip it in the bud and get that out of your system.

have a great day off and hope it's nice and toasty in the Shed Downunder!!

1/2Cup,
As all others have said, rest up, stay warm and kick that "P" word thing out for good. Then you can get back to QST. Saying a prayer for your health.

Nice trip. I do need to go see Tasmania some day.

Looks like the front that brought you some rain is about to smack us hard this weekend with a wall of water after lunchtime tomorrow. Good thing I have nowhere to be other than in the shed. :D

Enjoy the weekend!

Steve rest up, stay warm. Regards Bobby

Bobby, thank you.

I am doing exactly that.

I have had my IV antibiotics this morning then went to work just to tidy up a few loose ends that I cold not do from home and needed a face to face and I got told by the boss to go home as soon as I was finished which I promptly did.

xtremek, don't worry I am glad for spell check let me tell you.
What was it like for you as I really don't feel in well??????

I believe I am running on all 8 now but the x- rays show different??

Drives, I really don't have an issue with heights, thankfully.

Turbulence just comes with the territory and even more so in a light plane let me tell you. The jets do it well for the most part.

Driving for six days that would do my patience in.

You have done well to hold your breakfast in
I guess you do get used to those types of manoeuvres in a plane after a while, then again some do not.

IV this morning and have had no issues to this point in time.

I have not ventured into the shed for the last few days even though its air conditioned, it has been really wintery weather here over the past week.

1/2Cup,

Bob

Bob, thank you for your thoughts and prayers:thumbup:

I might try and get out into the shed over the weekend, just pottering about as I can never say there is never nothing to do in the shed.

It must be going around, just found out my MIL has it too.

QST is a highly motivating reason to get better.

Strouty, I trust your MIL gets over it quickly and it has no ill effects.

[QST is a highly motivating reason to get better] Quote, never truer words..:thumbup::thumbup:

And I was hoping he would get back to firing on all four again...

Andy,

That depends on what I am working on at the time...:3gears:

Guster, Tasmania ( like New Zealand ) is a beautiful place to visit and I can highly recommend it.

It only about a 4 hour flight from you..

https://www.discovertasmania.com.au/

We have had quite the cool change and speaking of Tasmania did you see the news this morning, they coped the rain big time this morning.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-05-11/hobart-weather-record-rains-hit-flash-flooding/9750106

We have had about 12 mm of very welcome rain and a lot more down in HOTFR8 country and there is no doubt you will get some as well.

Stay warm and dry..

Thank you one and all, have a great day..

Sure did. :eyecrazy:

We are next down the line for that weather system too. But it looks like it has lost a little fury along the way. Forecasts are lifting a bit compared to same time yesterday. Strangely it has been quite warm so far and looks like a very mild weekend too.

1/2: BIG CONGRATS to both you and Mrs. 1/2 Cup and Andrew and Amy!! :+1::beer:

I would never suggest going to the hospital when you are recovering from Pneumonia, but this might be a good reason to wear a mask and head there.

have a great SATUR day!!

Both are out of hospital and settling in at home, the mask sounds like a good idea.

Congrats to all.

Terrick, thank you.

Congratulations Grandpa!

Bob, thank you.

I am getting used to being called Grandpa now.

Congrats to the happy parents and prouder grandparents!

Ralf99 thank you.

Happy and very proud indeed.

Congratulations.

HOTFR8, thank you.

Congratulations!

One more and you'll be all caught up with me.

Now let's talk about great grand children...

Andy, thank you.

I would suggest that this may be the last for a while, then again I could be proven wrong. I know Mrs 1/2 Cup would love a Grand daughter.

Great grand children will be a little while off yet as our eldest Grandson Jayden is only six years old.

Man, it is a good thing it was a boy, otherwise you would be a grandmother.

Congrats! ;)

Strouty, thank you.

Perish the thought of me being a Grandmother:willy_nil

Again, thank you one and all..:thumbup:

Congratulations on the new grandson. And if I remember he is fairly close to where you live. That is good.

Sounds like you are working on beating the P word and that there is someone watching you at home and at work.
Hope you had a good weekend
