Ooooo, no pressure then in coming up with suitable alternative to an Australian icon. For what it's worth, my current preference is Mighty Mite.

As HotFR8 has mentioned, I'm told Ozemite is not too bad, however I have an issue with some of **** Smiths business practices so have not tried it myself - it is still available in supermarkets though.

For those of us not familiar with Vegemite, it's a savoury spread that's been a staple of Australian breakfasts and school lunches for the best part of a century, albeit at least part owned by the Australian arm of Kraft for 90 or so years until it was bought by our local Bega Cheese group in 2017.

Vegemite is very similar to Marmite from the UK, and was created in response to a shortage of Marmite imports at the end of the first world war.

One of its key ingredients is derived from yeast left over from the beer brewing process. I used to drive past the Kraft factory in Port Melbourne on my way home from work everyday and could always tell when they were processing a batch of Vegemite - the sweet aroma of the yeast would waft a mile or two around the factory.

Hijack over.
Thanks for the tip, will try it out.

I understand about the job situation, GM is laying off 1/3 (roughly 16k) of its white collar workforce here. We'll see how it plays out. Anyway, the pickets that are done look great. How much longer do you have to go through the medical treatment? I pray everything is clear and clean.

HOTFR8, Mrs 1/2 Cup came to me with a Repco Auto catalogue and said "what do you think of this for painting the fence" and naturally I said go for it, she went and picked it up for her self. I am not one to argue a deal like that.[emoji106]
I think she already knew the answer. [emoji106]

That is a nice creeper Steve. Saw it in the local sale catalogue and it wasn't cheap either. Score on both fronts. Hope you run out of pickets to paint and attach soon in favour of some QST.

I grew up with Marmite which tastes quite different from the Marmite and Vegemite they sell these days. Seem 'sharper' and more salty now. We only get the Aussie Vegemite as the NZ factory closed a few years back. Strangely enough they taste different over there as well. Different recipes between Au and NZ. My wife actually prefers Bovril instead which I sometimes borrow to add some kick to the Sunday roast gravy.

Ralf99 no hijack at all your input is always much appreciated..:thumbup::thumbup:

**** Smith had a good sense of humour when it came to naming some of his products - who could forget his answer to Red Head matches...

You are right there Mark, in fact we have a box of ******** matches.:lol_hitti

1/2 Cup,
Great score on the creeper! :pimpflash
I am praying that your test results come out as expected.

Jon it is a win, win for sure.

I am hoping to see some improvement in the scans. I have just had my Canula and bloods taken this morning with the scan in a few hours time after I drink that horrible Barium meal.

Thanks for the tip, will try it out.

xtremek thank you.

I am not real sure how much longer I have to go on with the medical treatment. I would presume it would be until I get the all clear on the scans and that no other nasties have popped up and then there would be checks every so often just to keep an eye on things.

Craptain for sure. She had done her research comparing all of the Auto stores around here.

Guster the creeper assembled easily and works well. We are getting there with the pickets and it will reside in the shed that's for sure.

I have never had Marmite to be honest and Bovril does work well in a gravy although just in moderation for my liking.

Steve good luck with your tests. I have had the Barium a few times from both ends. Believe me it's no treat either way even though it is tasteless from the end it is so tasteless to have to take it form!:lol_hitti

Fingers crossed, Steve.

1/2: prayers sent and fingers crossed!!

More canulas and barium shots? If that doesn't harden the constitution and cure all, I don't know what will.

I really hope these tests confirm it!

Positive results will be the treat.

Steve,
Praying for the best results.

Bob

Many thanks every one its sincerely appreciated:bowdown:

Well the results are in this morning my scan have shown a massive reduction in the size of my tumors to the point I could hardly make them out on the scans ( not that I am a radiologist ) and my Oncologist is over the moon with the progress and best of all there is no new nasty cancer growths showing up.:beer::beer:

Like with most cancer treatments there are side effects. None no more so than Optivo ( see below )

http://www.chemocare.com/chemotherapy/drug-info/Nivolumab.aspx

The scan showed up I have pneumonitis again like last year, I did feel it coming on with shortness of breath, most notably yesterday when we had very humid conditions. Luckily I had the Oncology appointment this morning and I was admitted to hospital straight away to get an IV Steroid tune up. I will be in here for 3 days and then back on to oral medication.
So that's two cannulas in two days.:headscrat

The other great thing is that all my bloods are back into the normal range and where they should be:thumbup::thumbup:

Many thanks one and all. It is much appreciated.

Steve, that's great news and a nice early Christmas present. I guess the side-effects are an indication of how bad the disease is. No one would choose those if it didn't save their life.

Bob it most certainly is great news :beer:
You really do not have a lot of options and I just have to go with the flow, this time around I know what to expect where as last December when I was admitted to ICU it took a little while to find out exactly what the issue was before they could treat it effectively.

Many thanks for dropping by.

Glad that the scan went well and that you got a head start on fighting the pneumonitis.

Do you find if you are feeling down, there will always be a heap of people to give you encouragement and the zest to percervere.

Not really Terrick, my spirits are pretty good and I do appreciate all the encouragement I receive on the GJ.

I have already had several visitors here today including my Boss ( who is my Oncologists wife ) and the time goes pretty quickly really between visitors, meals, observations and the daily hospital routine.

Many thanks:thumbup:

1/2: i'm hoping your stay at the hospital is a short and successful one. we've got one of our major holidays tomorrow (Thanksgiving) and it will be quite here for the first time in 30+ years. we usually host the big feast, but all our kids are out of town (or country as my daughter and son in law are in south africa for 2 months) so we might just have homemade PIZZA.

not sure you have any of these HUGE SNOW CAPPED MOUNTAINS in your area, but we've got a few and here's a picture I took a couple days ago when we were out of town for a couple days of R&R. it's Mt. Baker and an old volcano that I think is about 12,000 feet elevation at it's top.

here's to your continued good health!!

I wish you all the best for Thankgiving.
Home made PIZZA sounds great:drool:

Your picture of Mount Barker is just stunning, we don't have mountains like that directly around here for the most part it is pretty flat. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for your continued support, I am feeling much better today. However we did have a canula blow out this morning so the total tally is three in three days now.

Thank you one and all, have a great day.
