anti seize fetish?

I was taught never put it on wheel studs and I still don't. From the looks of the post I read it comes down to what you were told when you were young and dumb. What ever dad or that lead tech you respected said, you do. I use anti seize here and there where I feel it is need. Otherwise I locktite everything, mostly red 271.

They don't specify it because they don't care about maintaining a car 10 years later. As if they test and design for all kinds of climates. Must be why components literally rot off cars after some years in the rust belt.

Mercedes-Benz specifically warn you not to use it on wheel bolts, and don't tell me about rust I'm English (what you going to do paint the whole component with anti seize to stop it rotting?).

Most Spark plugs have a special coating and the manufacturers also warn not to use it on these type of plugs (some black Motorcraft plugs are not plated).

If you get a bolt that is pre treated with blue thread lock don't add anti seize

As for the idiots that daub it on battery terminals and door hinges ,they just boil my piss :)
