Well, to save time the tool is 0.5HP - which should be getting the job done on a 3" cut-off tool as many competing designs are below that power rating. On an in-line tool the ergonomics allow you to push it more quickly through material then approaching it from a 90 degree - so that's some of it.
If there's a general consensus, opinions about a tool, or issue with it - we try to address amazon reviews directly and help if we can. But single or even a handful of reviews can often be.... well off base some times.
We've had people send in this very unit saying it wasn't very powerful, see nothing wrong and have to inform them of the power adjustment knob on the side.

yeah I took the review with a pretty decent grain of salt. I have been using AP stuff for years and years. I know their quality and standard quite well. That cut off wheel is on my Amazon wish list. My birthday is in July so it might be a wile....
Makes me think of the guy who destroyed his transmission when he shifted from D for dirt to P for pavement
Might be the funniest thing I have seen all day.
