Hey Chris, have the 3/8” drive SAE flex socket sets (74307) been discontinued? All sources that I have checked state out of stock. I know SAE isn’t as popular as metric, but us old DIY guys still do a lot of wrenching on our old stuff. Sorry if this question has been asked already, but didn’t want to read through 72 pages to find out. Thanks!

PM me your address, we'll ship you one free of charge for the hassle and to make sure you get one.

You guys are such a stand up company. Things like this really lead to more sales...albeit in this small community but it more than makes up for what you guys lose by taking care of your customers. I wish more companies would operate that way but sadly it would get abused by the public.

Yup, D/C
My department just works on the tools. Sometimes they get the axe down the road and I'm usually not in that discussion. As we're a specialty tools and equipment company at heart, we're not beholden to the hand tool company mantra of "well if you offer shallow you have to offer deep sockets, if you offer 3/8" you have to offer 1/4" " and so if SAE falls below the quantities we would need in order to keep that production line going for an extended period of time, it gets the 'ol axe.

This allows my department to work on some pretty cool and new things often, and allow us to price things pretty competitively. Usually you have to rope the lower sales sets' cost like SAE and extra deep or whatever into the higher selling set like Metric's price, we don't.
But it does have downsides now and again as well.

Thanks for the reply, and now I’m really glad that I asked! I purchased the other three sets, 1/4” and 3/8” metric, and 1/4” SAE sets on Amazon a couple of weeks ago, but I couldn’t find the 3/8” SAE set available. Now I know why and won’t continue to keep searching for new. Guess I’ll keep a watch out for a used set on eBay now.

Great sets btw!
Thanks again!

Got a chance to use the Astro 3/8" pneumatic impact.

Yet again, Astro makes a nice tool. Handy, much smaller than a usual 1/2" impact, plenty of power for what I used it for.

I LIKE it.

And the 3/8" nano impact sockets worked out great too. Smaller overall than usual impact sockets.

Thank you Astro, for making more good stuff.

Darn you Astro, for making more good stuff. :lol_hitti

Don't worry, if the SMA gun is AP it'll upset an established manufacturer in the segment and then just be sold overseas......

Are people talking about a different impact or the one hes been using for a while that looks like a 3/4" with a 1/2" anvil?

Big shout out and thanks to Chris for handling a small issue I had with one of my beloved pinless impact sockets the other day. Had a new one in hands within a day or two. In years past he's also been like Santa Claus with his giveaways and BOGOs. This is the kind of company I want to spend my money with.

I'm not sure if it's the infamous impact, but in one of Eric's latest videos, he sneak peaks a new Astro impact. It's hard to make out the writing on the box, but the part # starts with a 18 and you can see 1/2" impact on the box if you look close enough.

At the 16:24 mark,

Says Onyx 1894 on the box. Thats why I was a little confused because he's been using the pre-production one for quite some time if its indeed the same impact.

Chris, I know Astro has the wrenches/sockets for damaged bolts and nuts. Do you make hex sockets/keys for damaged allen heads?

They used to but think I read they discontinued them. I got a set of T handle allen wrenches with a cam end a few years back and haven't used them much but they have come in handy when needed.

Hey astro guy, this thread:
https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=291025
I reiterate my point of sharp v pittsburgh pro open end, maybe even through in some sort of ASD preferably Wright style, reversible flex head for stupid euro stuff for move this and that at the same time (camber/toe on a bmw), long pattern, 12-22, 24, 26,27,30mm. This would be the ultimate alignment wrench set.

Chris, do you sell the nano impact sockets separately? I've lost the 6mm, plus want to pick up the 20-24mm 1/2" drive nanos to complete my set (I have the 3/8" metric that ends at 19mm). Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing on the 20-24mm. I have the metric and SAE sets in 3/8 and have been toying with the idea of getting the 1/2 metric but it's hard to justify the set when I only need the 20-24 mm.

On another note, I picked up the 78300 flex head, that thing has come in handy!

We have a model number 78319UPD, an update set for guys like you.
If you email customer service [email protected] they can sort you out if you provide your address.
Burger, just mention Chris on GJ said it was cool to add the 6mm size you're missing in with it for free and have them do that.

Any chance that you are going to expand more of the cordless lights to having the same swappable battery, or wireless charging?
