So... this seems like the right thread for this:
This collection started innocently enough with one or two, but now I have almost twenty of these ridiculous things.
Top row, left to right:
- Witte (MaxxPro Nature), 00969
Bottom row, left to right:
- Felo (2K Frico style), 59720000
- Felo (Ergonic style), 62405
A few notes about these (possibly of use for those who are looking for one of their own):
As far as I know, the Snap-On openers were only included as promotional items with screwdriver sets. The soft-handle set was DES414095 and the Instinct-handle set was SGDX60BOSB.
The Würth was apparently included with a limited "Black Edition" 1/4"-drive socket set that was sold in 2012. The part number for the whole set is 0965 11 330. It's difficult to find one of these outside Germany.
The Unior (made in Slovenia) happens to be branded with the logo of Husaberg, the Swedish/Austrian motorbike manufacturer. I bought this opener from an eBay seller in Israel.
The orange Wera is quite strange -- it has a hard handle in the Kraftform shape, and "Wera", "Kraftform", and "Germany" are moulded into the handle. One side is marked "Paladin Corporation", with a 'knight' logo (♞). Found this one in an obscure online antique store.
The Klein and the Greenlee are almost identical, but the Klein is US-made while the Greenlee is from Taiwan. I didn't discover this about the Greenlee until I'd already bought it.
Notably absent is the opener from Channellock (part no. BOCB), because, unlike their high-quality hand tools, production of the bottle opener has been exported to China rather than kept in the US. I'll be happy to purchase one and include it in my collection when Channellock remedies this situation.
I also haven't included the opener from Milwaukee Tool (released Q3 2013), because it's apparently also made in Taiwan. Although the quality of Taiwanese tools has improved noticibly over the past two decades, it's not on the same level as US tool manufacturing and it's unbecoming of an old American brand such as Milwaukee.
I don't think the Wiha or the Gedore have dedicated part numbers, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
