A little progress on the current master plan.
I'm working on getting the bench we set up for my son a few years back out from the depths of the corner of the shop.
See, it's right there in the corner.

The bench is 11' long and the frame is 4x4x1/4" wall square tube and has a old restaurant stainless top on most of it. There's a 1/2" plate vise mount and the very end is going to be fitted with a stainless pan with a drain. This will be used to drain ATV engines on as he breaks them down.
I set up my 2"x72" belt grinder on a temporary stand and installed some casters. Now I can fully use this tool.

After some clearing, there's the bench, I told you there was one there!
All jacked up and ready to roll on the dollies.

Tight fit coming around the shelf unit.

Got it out, this is a big turning point for me. Now I just need to get the vise and pan mounted so the son can take it to HIS shop this weekend.

Now the lathe is in its final spot in the shop. Yes it's un level, but the it is blocked up under the supports.
My son buys and sells ATV, whole and in parts. He worked his way through college doing just this and saved enough to buy his home and still does this for work today. Most of the oil stains are from his ATV work, but I'm not complaining much. I just look at it as my sacrifice to bringing him full circle to being his own man.
Anyway, that's my update for this week, hope to have more soon.
