I second that!!! LOL

Great job on the cabinet CB... A lifetime or two out of that one for sure!
Thanks
I sent a picture to my retired fireman cousin telling him it’ll just be one big explosion instead of a bunch of those annoying little ones.🤣🤣

Trying to pick out a set of casters for the donor cab, (not a easy feat around here) I decided to use a set I bought at a sale the day after buying the cabs. Two were pretty stiff rolling, so took apart to clean and lube. With all the casters I’ve bought, most are dry as a bone with no lube in sight.
Spacer and bearing cage stuck in wheel.

Guess rust was used as lube. Any wonder it didn’t want to spin?

I wire wheeled and flushed with denatured alcohol.. This would of been a good candidate for a Evaporust soak, but I was in a hurry.

Ill grease up and reassemble today and start the caster swap on cab.

I’m setting records guys, these casters didn’t even make it to the caster section in my shed!

I’m back! No aliens. Got sidetracked with a work related issue, along with attention to some house projects.
Wife said she could hear water dripping when on the toilet, no kidding? No in the wall, which the shower valve is in.
She might be right.

The cartridge was leaking out the front , it’s a 20 year old Moen Shower valve. It came out hard, found the side rubber seal had pulled off and was have crammed in the slot in the housing. Off to Home Depot. They had the right one and the sales lady tells me that all I had to do was call Moen, they have a lifetime warranty! I’ll have to try and remember that.

Benn planing on stripping the caulking and redoing, so might as well since I’m standing in the shower. We have acrylic panels in our shower and finding a decent caulk that holds up has been a challenge .
It’s coming out and will tiled down the road.

Enough house ****.
Finished the regreasing of the casters and installed on the used to be donor cab.

Rolls nice now.
Set up the 4x4 metal straightener and got the door fairly straight.BC296A41-6F85-490E-BD6E-0C8C823B4A7F.jpeg34E1D91D-9B6D-424C-89A7-64E51DB29B3B.jpeg

Some more straightening.

Not much to show, but I did clear a little bit of floor space by putting this little side box on the roll away. It’ll house my various pick, cotter pin removers, a lot of small stuff that’s crammed in my box now. Only took a year! As you can see, I’ve stacked stuff on top already, but it will be dealt with soon. Really!

As you can see, I have a near terminal case of horizontal surface disease. Most of what you see is stuff that’s been there for a while. I have pulled back and been selective on what I drag home. In the recent past, whenever I do buy stuff, it gets dealt with and put away.

Side box in place.

Does EVERYONE have one of those Kennedy 8-drawer machinists top boxes!!! LOL I see them all over the place. Mine was a hand-me-down from my grandfather.
Some of us have more. I think I currently have 4 of them. Plus Gerstners, Craftsman, and a couple of others.
But I'm making an effort to consolidate and make some available to other people.

I’ve had it set up like this over 10 years, It has served me well. I’m probably going to redo one of the bottoms and use it for it’s intended use, machine stuff.

I also have a short Lista and a Equipto that has shallow drawers. That might be a better use with the weight of all the machine stuff I’ve acquired.

Someday!🤪🤪

I hate cool tools…..

Well, my wallet does anyways, this is why I stay out of the show your new tools thread as much as possible. I can do enough damage without encouragement.

hope you guys have a good fourth, we are going to get pretty much rained out up here. :(

I had one that was doing that on a loaded trailer, and I had already used my spare. And to make it better, we were in the middle of nowhere. I did have a tube of orange silicone, and a small compressor. I used the trailer jack to pop the tire off the rim, siliconed the fool out of it, and aired it back up. It lasted almost a year.

Almost finished building the planter fence, just need to weld a couple of tabs to mount to wall.

The belt grinder makes coping pretty easy.

Made three legs to keep off the ground.

Going to weld one of those tabs to a flat bar that will mount on the wall. A simple pin to hold in place. Got to make sure it’s fairly simple to remove pin so the fence can be pulled away so wife can take care of whatever she plants there.

Hope to get painted after I get back from our adventure at Andrew’s. Taking a truck load up and coming home empty.

I need to get me a belt sander
It’s a great tool to have for fab work. I have a older Stephen Bader with a 2 HP and it just eats. I’ve had a couple belt break and it felt like someone punched me, I was beveling some 1” plate and I guess I let it get into belt too much.
I’d like to build one that has a horizontal position. Someday
