Another great result of RaceDeck being added! I am looking at doing this in the near future too, and your garage is another "push" towards RaceDeck. Looks really great!

Two questions: Where do you live? I assume it is somewhere where you don't have to deal with snow? My vehicles track in all kinds of gunk during the winter that I couldn't ever clean out with racedeck flooring in place.

You have two lights mounted above your garage door opener. Are they wired to the opener?

If you want to see how at RaceDeck Free Flow floor performs in a winter climate, feel free to visit page 6 of my thread. I'm not trying to hijack here, but I have the exact same floor and I make it work in one of the harshest winter climates you can imagine. It does take a bit of work, though.

Thanks, that's helpful. I'm in Utah and I drag a lot of debris into the garage during winter.

The key is to drag as little gunk into the garage, but once it accumulates, you have to drag the floor out and do the rinse. The benefits far outweigh the costs, imho.

North Carolina is only full of blue skies and mild weather… so no big mess around here.

I would've pointed you to 55cadillacking's page as well (thanks Rick!) :thumbs up:

Those are just the cheap clamp work lights painted black. They are plugged into something similar to this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DF2QDK/?tag=atomicindus08-20.

One day I'll wire them to the opener - I just haven't gotten around to it yet and had that remote control thing laying around with Christmas decorations

I REALLY like the clamp lights painted black. That is such a simple, easy idea it amazes me how I didn't think of that myself. It makes those lights look so much classier.

As for that link to the remote control for multiple lights, I LOVE LOVE LOVE that thing and it's so cheap! I'm ordering one RIGHT NOW! And going to get a can of VHT for my clamp lights tomorrow!

Thanks Dan! My main reason for the clamp lights is that when the garage door is up, all the light to that side of the garage is blocked by the garage door (two recessed lights and two shop lights).

I thought about adding track lights or more fluorescent tubes on the wall but these clamp lights angled in that direction did the job for $12 (plus gloss black rustoleum 2x cover spray paint). I also have the 75w equivalent CFL bulbs in there so they do put out a nice amount of light that gets "under" the opened garage door and actually a little bit out into the driveway.

Obviously if I really need a lot of light - I'll just close the garage door. But if we're just hanging out on a nice night and need some extra light for drinking games - they fit the bill perfectly.

I actually use Husky Trackwall because the price at home depot is the best (7.98 for the track). It's exactly the same as the Craftsman trackwall, but that's 9.99 unless on sale.

Just for the record, the Husky Track Wall and Craftsman VersaTrack are NOT exactly the same. Although the hooks and hangers fit both brands the actual track-wall is not the same.

The Craftsman VersaTrack is slightly taller and thicker than the Husky brand and thus neither the "connectors" nor the "end pieces" are interchangeable between the brands.

Also, when Sears runs a sale Craftsman VersaTrack cost less than the Husky stuff.

Well I stand corrected - Thanks for the info!

Really nice. It never looks so good as it does right after you finish.

Thanks James. I'm enjoying it right now (until I think of something else to add).

I'm focusing on sprucing up the aquarium this weekend. :rocker:

Well I stand corrected - Thanks for the info!:

I learned that by installing a bunch of Craftsman VersaTrack and being one piece short....sooooo....the next day stopped at HD, grabbed 1 piece of Husky Track Wall, a bag of connectors, and a bag of end caps $21+. Got home threw the Track Wall in the miter saw, because I had measured the space the day before, stuck the connector on, climbed up the ladder, and dang....no can fit. I got the go-back-girl (wife) to return the connectors and end caps but I couldn't convince her to attempt a return of the sawed in-half piece of Track Wall.

You have a good looking set up there.

I'm a huge fan of the track wall system. I have several in my garage and I expanded to the laundry room / mud room.

Where's all your...stuff? I see all these incredible garages, and this space is no exception, but they've all managed to hide all their clutter - where? That's the missing link for me. I have too much stuff that supports my hobbies or just general household overflow taking up garage space. I have an entire 36x16x72 shelf unit just for liquids (oils [new & used], waxes, soaps, degreasers, spray paints, etc). And that doesn't even scratch the surface. The utility sink, water heater and W/D in the garage does take up a fair bit of space, truth be told - half a wall actually.

Anyway, great space, looks very well coordinated and comfortable. And ya can't beat watching sports with man's best friend at your feet.

Ah - excellent point. I don't have kids...

Haha but in all seriousness, I have a partially floored attic above the garage for stuff that I don't use often. I also have a shed in the backyard for the mower. I also have another attic above the 2nd floor of the house.

The attic space is partially why I chose this house.

Here's some more pics because I had nothing else to do last night.

I'd added two more clamp lights - one in the corner by the hose reel and another one on the garage door opener.

Took down the rotating Heineken sign

Added a new shelf by the scag sign.

Changed all of the lighting back to ~3000k as I decided I like the warmer feel (85w equivalent LED bulbs in the recessed cans - 100w equivalent CFLs in all of the clamp lights and garage door opener - soft white T8 bulbs)

Looks awesome!

Question for you - are those clearance lights in the top of the grille on your F-150? I have only seen them on the Raptor in the past, so just curious...

Ok - I added a new 6 drawer rolling cabinet by the door, added another wall cabinet, took down the bud light neon sign (I have a new Matco Tools banner going in its place - and it broke on my anyways). Also switched my 240v ceiling heater with my summer oscillating fan.

Also added a Texaco sign (thought it was nice looking and obviously matched my color theme) and a Free Air sign because the neighbors always come over with their kids toys/bikes to fill up.

How are you liking that ir compressor? Garage is looking as good as ever!

Thanks! I love the compressor. Noise was a big concern for me when shopping around - and while I wouldn't say this is quiet, it's a mild tone where I can still talk to someone standing next to it when it's running. I do mild auto work - like putting bolt on lift kits on trucks - and it has worked fantastic. I also use it to blow pollen off the cars before I pull them in this time of year. If it's running with the garage door down, you can barely hear it outside.

Nice place you got, looks very tidy and clean. Love the neon sign

Thank you! The neon sign failed me about a week ago. The transformer sort of buzzes and I'm not quite sure if I want to try to fix it or just sell it as is now. I'd rather have a neon sign with some red in it anyways.

For now - the sign has been retired to the attic...

Nice updates. Somehow it keeps getting better lol...
Very kind sir! If sears has a deal - I'll find it. Haha. That 6 drawer quiet glide cabinet - brand new for $75.00

PS - I'm keeping an eye out for your move towards a new space. Looking forward to it!!

Yup! You did it again. A VAG product in a nice garage is a winner every time.

Now I'm just nit-picking...

Added more gray paint & shelving to this wall

It's not Craftsman - but at least it matches. Also put another "trouble light" on the other garage track.

Is that a Husky 150BT blower? How do you like it? Thinking about picking up one.

The one on top is the 150BT from Lowe's - the one on the bottom is the 356BT.

I highly recommend the 150BT for price/power/reliability. I actually just bought another one for my father-in-law.

If noise is an issue - which it is with my neighbors - the 356BT can't be beat. I'm pretty sure it's quieter than my vacuum cleaner at full throttle.
