Your place is really coming together, love the new saw! A friend recently gave me a hanging Jet dust filter like you have with a bad motor. I haven't had time to look at it yet but I'm sure I can get it working if I try. Do you like yours?

They are great! Circulates the air, scrubs dust out of the air, pushes the heat that raises to the ceiling in the winter. I like them. Have four in the shop. I watch Craigslist and jump when someone is selling cheap. They can be found for $100 or so if you're patient.

Thank you for checking out my shop and commenting!

I got three of these 4.5" pressure gauges on eBay for a very good price. Going to put the other two in the finishing room and main upholstery bay.

Lots of small stuff done in the shop today. Got the main upholstery bay cleaned up and all of the machines running.

Getting the SawStop together. Need to run some conduit and dust collection piping and it will be ready for prime time. I did get it landed in its new home. Feels weird selling the Unisaw. Has been a great machine.

Absolutely!!

Ordered qty "10" of these silver pens on Ali Express a couple weeks ago. Wasn't sure if I ordered 10 x 20 or 10 total. They arrived today. 200 silver space pens for $38! Normally pay around $5-6/ea. This should last a while.

I've seen the videos of the SawStop safety features man i have this urge to test it myself though, not with my own skin of course =)

Are those saws pretty expensive? never looked into one.

Blade brake cartridge is $69. The dado cartridge is 90.. plus the price of the blade. A brake firing could easily cost $200.

Unisaw just left. Got a full price offer from a guy over on the coast.

SD: a friend of mine is one of the design guys for SawStop and if i had the space (and the funds cause they aren't cheap) i'd own one too.

great addition to your shop and hope you never need the $200+- blade destruction safety option.

here's the video i'm sure you've seen, but i'm not sure the members or the lurkers have so here's the link:

i see so many cool and HIGH QUALITY TOOLS going in your shop i can only imagine how much quality you'll have when it comes to repairing or creating nice stuff for you and your customers.

cheers and have a great day!!

Thanks for following and cheering me on, Drives!!

Came home to this:
8ab8c0286c39bc2a90c8953112995922.jpg

One is still on its way. Fifty gallons. Of paint. Paint! Not super excited about the doing it, but really excited to see the result. I'm waiting on an o-ring for my pressure washer to come tomorrow so I can prep the main parking area tomorrow after work. Then, get it primed and painted Saturday morning. I'm going to do a wall at a time, over the next little while. I think that will make the project a lot more doable. Lots of little stuff to get done before a full interior project arrives.

The primer looks like it will do the trick. Going to topcoat this little section later this evening so I can see how it looks.

It was a little weird loading the Unisaw out.

I am so excited to see a whole wall painted. This is the touch I need to relax for a while and enjoy customer work. I ordered the bits I need for my sprayer so I can spray the super thick elastomeric paint. In the mean time I enjoyed some sunshine and brush primed a chunk of the wall I see when I walk in to the shop every day. I'm going to topcoat it today after working a few hours this morning.

SD: i love that you get excited about having PAINT DELIVERED. with all those cool tools i know you like your building maybe as much or more as you should. the new paint job will look great and not sure it won't rain on you, but maybe you won't get the rain predicted for our side of the mountains this coming week. we had a helluva day yesterday which might make your day today AWESOME for doing the job you are doing with the pressure washing.

best of luck with the paint and i bet you'll smile even more when pulling up to your building soon.

You will enjoy the SS. I know they have taken some flack for trying to force the industry to use their technology but it is a nice saw. I had a Unisaw and Powermatic before this saw and have used the SS for 6-7 years and love it. I learned the hard way about what wet treated wood can do to a cartridge!

It has been a ton of work this week to get going on painting. Ended up spraying the primer last night well last sunset. Hired the local fence guy to raise the fence between the shop and the lot next door. Also adding privacy slats.

My buddy snapped this just before I called it a night last night.

Topcoat going on this evening.

The elastomeric paint is thick like pudding. Took some research, but I got the right combo of parts so my sprayer could pump the thick paint. 30 mesh manifold screen, 60 mesh pump screen and 425 (0.025") fluid tip. Sprayed the paint well.

Second topcoat in the morning.

The elastomeric is a pain, but it holds up well. The place is looking good.

It goes on nice with the sprayer. Definitely the right paint for concrete, block and stucco.

Thanks for cheering me on. Every time I do something to improve the place the old **** gets amplified. I'm really excited about the paint. I'll tackle the trim work a little at a time over the summer.

SD: AWESOME!!

just in case you might want to test your talents in painting one of these or spending the money to have somebody paint one these 3D pictures really look pretty cool on a garage door.

none of these are ones i'd pick for your doors, but thought i'd throw out a few that i saved.

always fun checking in on you to see what a guy can do in his spare time to make us retired guys jealous.

To fill and seal cracks and such. It's super sunny and already 58F. Going to spray second coat of elastomeric after the sun is on the other side of noon.

Thanks guys! Got the second coat sprayed. Copying the "one (or three) wall at a time" approach. I'm done painting for a week or so. Really blown away by how good this looks and the paint is not even dry yet!!

Had the local fence guy raise the chain link fence on the retaining wall between the shop and the adjacent lot last week. I got some of the privacy slats installed this morning. This is all taking shape. I dig it.

Hoping to strike a deal with the contractor doing the lot clearing and dirt work to grade and gravel the parking area in the same gravel.
